Why is it we keep hearing about The Rich taking care of the Republicans, yet when the Democrats (and very very highly placed ones, too) are guilty of the same, we don't hear stories like the above?

What exactly are you getting at? Some guy has a yacht staffed by an all female crew and he's paying Bill Clinton and Pelosi's kid a lot of money.
What am I supposed to be outraged about?

Sha! Like, I'm SO sure!
The mere mention of Bill Clinton's name in print - that's what.
Like, get with the program, dude. ;)

In W*gs world, the mere speaking of the name Clinton is akin to invoking
the name of Satan back in medieval Europe.

Not you, particularly. But when high-ranking Dems are in cahoots with an incredibly wealthy individual, I should think that the usual suspects would be upset. Obviously, they're not. Double standards shading into hypocrisy at work...

This thread is pretty funny.
Pelosi is on the take, with her son getting a fat 180 grand annual salary for nothing.
The Clintons are lovin that personal attention that only a special interest group can provide.
Then the resident Dem apologists and volunteer show up guns-ablazin' apologizing for their beloved without even having read the article.
Politics makes men children.

We could post these kinds of stories about the Repugs, but there's not enough bandwidth.

Politics makes men children.Funny how Republicans and the religious right are all saying everybody is rotten now but never uttered a word before about any of them until it was shown what was known all along to a lot of people.

Seriously, you know it. Instead of doing the hard work and being creative and solving problems. We scream and throw a temper tantrum when people won't let us play in the sandbox. But if we didn't want things they way they were, we'd change them.

The Israelites ran into this problem quite a bit. Every time someone came along and told them that they needed to get back to reality, they killed them or marginalized them. You know, its funny that Jesus new exactly what would happen to him when he started publicly challenging Israel. He rode into Jerusalem knowing that they would kill him before he was able to leave. How? He knew it happened to every other prophet that told Israel that it was a land of whitewashed tombs. And he knew that he would be watched closely by the Pharisees and Sadducees.
You are right. I dont think that as a whole and in this regard, that people will ever change. And I also think that it is stiil our choice.

I'll go in a few points here:
One reason why muslim suicide bombers are not martyrs - is their action is selfish. It isn't like the monks who torched themselves, or done out of any other ego driven principle (when martrydom is your goal, that's selfish, etc).
Exactly it. People DON'T WANT CHANGE. If people wanted a change, then change would be made.
We have an extrodinary situation we can exploit:
If we can get off our asses - we can move to really changing our habits and turning things around. We could use all of our technical ability, and our marketing ability to move to altertanive energy solutions. By moving an alternative energy market (I do understand petrol will be needed, but i'm talking about mass reduction of use) that is broken down to take best advantage of geography, climate, etc - coupled with any alt-fuel advances for cars, trucks, etc, we can tilt the flow of capital back to the US, pay off our debt & make it look cool doing it. :)
But people don't want to maybe have to do some of the lifting, each generation has passed it on to the next. One reason why from GenX on down, allot of us know somethings wrong - but most of us don't want even try to figure it out.
LOL maybe i should ask ron paul if i can be VP.... lol
