In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."
Milligan, who was elected as the new chair of the Arkansas Republican Party just two weeks ago, also told the newspaper that he is "150 percent" behind Bush in the war in Iraq.
In his acceptance speech on May 19th, Milligan told his fellow Republicans that it was "time for a rediscovery of our values and our common sense."
The owner of a water treatment company, Milligan was a relative unknown in Arkansas politics until being elected the party chairman. He had previously served as the party's treasurer and the Saline County Republican chair.

I dont think that Bush will ever be hailed as a hero, as he has completely alienated his base and his ideological enemies.
This dork is about as stupid as the America-haters who said that 9/11 was justifiable payback, and that America "had it coming"...

Well i didn't know he was a reg. "D" - i remember reading an article with him stating how bad they were (democrats) - so this actually kinda makes sense.

Would we be unified again? Would we be pissed again? Who would we be more pissed at, the terrorists or Bush? Would everyone have American flags flying everywhere?Would the Congress rubberstamp everything the president wanted to do or would they try to impeach him?

I know alot on the left said there were reasons for 9-11, not that 9-11 was justified , just listed the reasons why it happened .........

"how did we let these people in knowing this?" after the fact, a gigantic blamestorm , to be followed by constant bitching about lines at the airport, civil rights being infringed upon, etc.
kinda like VA Tech only on a larger scale.
as much as the entire country is "on the fence" about everything, wed likely thrust ourselves into a civil war of sorts.

Should another attack happen there will be a period of patriotic rhetoric and then there would be a time of complacency and then whichever party is not in power will start attacking the party that is in power. This will lead up to the next election which will feature the same type of banter we see now.

All you have to do is wait until the next election, the troops will be home in short order if a democrat is elected then we can see how the chips fall. I'm not sure what will happen, but I am sure that the terrorists will not stop doing what they do if we are in Iraq or on the US Mexico border.
