He is reported not to pitch Monday based on having "fatigured groin". Now I have never heard of this but experienced it for the last time during my 10 day honeymoon (you married guys know what I mean by not having it since). Ive heard pulled gr -o -in (Sam Malone see Cheers), but never this. I think Turf Toe sounds pretty weak also. Here is the thread. What are some of the weekest or weirdest injuries. And Yes, you can list Griese's "injuries" too.

As the Mechanicalbull stated in the baseball thread, this is more about him not being embarrassed in his first start more than anything else.....so they back up his debut so he can face my Boys, The Pittsburgh Pirates.

True, the Bucs are struggling...they always do...this isn't the Red Sox we're talking about here by a long shot. Still, I find it a bit insulting a team like the Yankees, who have pretty much a similar record as the Pirates, think that Pittsburgh is such an easy mark that groin pull should be able to cruise and look good against them. Typical Yankees/Rocket arrogance.

I hope the Pirates shell him.....and I'd say that even if I wasn't a Pirates fan.

turn and cough bro...

Seriously, you don't have to have a bulge for a hernia. When it gets to the point of a palpable bulge, its pretty far along. Go get checked.

I acutally don't use the ol' turn and cough manuever... I can feel the floor of the inquinal canal and/or dilated internal inguinal ring on exam -- while the patient is lying on his back. Makes it much easier to feel a defect in the fascia. The idea of the turn and cough thing -- it increases intraabdominal pressure while the examiner is palpating the inguinal canal. If you feel something bulging into the canal or through the floor, then there is an inguinal hernia.

I had one of those and had a special patch sewn into the inside of my in pelvis to keep my intestinal wall from leaking out. I tore it when I was doing squats in the gym, I guess. Took a week to recover and haven't had a problem since. The doctor told me that when our testicles drop, the space they vacate is weakened and in some people that's where it breaks down. Apparently if you have it one side, your odds of having it in the other are pretty low. Now tell me this is all true, Broncostein.;D

I find it appropriate that a thread about Clemens should turn into one about gay innuendo.

If I'm Clemens, the first reporter who asks how I got a fatigued groin gets the obligatory "Ask your wife" response.

My buddy thinks that Clemens is faking the groin injury because he wants to try and back out of his Yankees contract since they're out of the race.

The timing is definitely suspicious.
