Biden won the New Hampshire debate running away...at least in terms of substance. We need a realistic, pragmatic President, and Biden represents that type of leadership.

Hillary seemed to do pretty good too. She looked sharp and on her game and
didn't let Edwards bully her.

Eh, I thought Edwards got the best of Clinton. Obama, in turn, got the best of Edwards. But the top three pretty much bore me. Biden is the only candidate who takes a realistic, pragmatic view on the issues and does not pander to utopian ideals.

I thought Billary did the best. Edwards is turning into one of those guys on the sidelines flinging turds of doom. Obama held his own. IMO, Richardson came off as the slimiest of them all. He refused to answer a single question. Every question asked of him, he just deflected over to something he wanted to say about how wonderful he was. My wife started muting him. Ha! Biden's "I'm paying for the troops" mantra is not going to do him any good. He's always played both sides of the fence. Just more of the same.

The uber loser was Dennis the Menace who, in one instant, flushed his entire campaign down the toilet by saying that Iraq is now the Dems war. Good luck with that, Dennis, you ****ing moron.

I don't see it as playing both sides of the fence. He is absolutely right...without the 67 votes needed to override a veto, there is no way for the Dems to end the war unless the folks vote in a Democratic president in '08. We all know Bush will not respond to public pressure...he doesn't give a damn. The war will not end on his watch. In the meantime, kids will die without the necessary equipment. The only way to stop the war is to get a Democratic president in the White House. I see that as realism, not pandering.

IMO, the only way to end this war is not to fund it. Kucinich (sp?) was correct in saying the the money to fund a troop exit is now in the pipeline.

The problem is that it assumes Bush will pull out under any terms. He won't. He's made that clear.

Like Kucinich pointed out, a very small amount of that 97 billion actually goes to the troops. The majority goes to Pentagon pork. Bush won't stop unless somebody stops him. Why didn't Biden simply figure out exactly how much the troops need, say 1 billion, and say to Bush, "That's what we're giving you. For the troops. It's your choice where to spend it."

Again, the veto. It's not going to happen without either 67 votes to override or more realistically a Democratic president. Bush is not going to pull out. You have to be realistic when these kids lives are at stake. We are not getting out of Iraq as long as Bush is President.

I noticed that the day after the Dems gave Bush a free ride on this one, he started threatening Iran and messing with Putin. The American people elected the Dems to put the brakes on Bush. Like Kucinich said, don't send any bill at all. Leave him twisting in the wind. The morning the Dems caved on that one, with the help of Biden's "leadership" Bush skipped out into the Rose Garden with a big smirk on his face. He knew he'd won. I noticed that Billary and Obama waited until the funding had passed before they slipped in their meaningless "no" votes. The Dems, once again, showed the American people what pussies they are.

No funding, no choice! He can veto all he wants. If the DEMS had the sack to weather the REPUB attack machine, eventually, he'll have to sign.

Do you really think Bush will end this war under any circumstances, effectively admitting he was wrong? I dont. This war will not end until Jan '09 at the earliest regardless of what Dems do. A certain number of US troops will die during that span. That number will be higher without the proper equipment. I'd be on board with the hard line stance if there were a real chance of it working, but so long as Bush is in charge, that simply won't happen.

Somtimes, you just have to fight. You draw a line, and fight. Why do you think Congress' poll numbers are even lower than Bush's?

Biden could be a candidate who has appeal to moderate Democrats and Republicans. I know I'd take a look at him, depending on who the Republican candidate turns out to be. He's a person that has to be pushed with grass roots, though. The Democrat political machine seems to be solidly behind Hillary, Obama and maybe John Edwards.

I dont know what his numbers are, but does this guy really have a prayer? He screwed up with his verbal flaub shortly after he anounced...

I just dont see him getting traction and coverage.

His position on campaign finance reform alone makes him an attractive candidate to anyone who is sick of the status quo in Washington.

I didnt watch .............

By the time it was on I had done most near everything I needed to
do out in the yard and in the house, and was sort of bored, so
decided to watch it just to see what they had to say.

It's still way too early for presidential debates. Only the most politically saavy are watching right now.
