Belton (6-foot-0, 232 pounds) is a third-year fullback who was out of football after Chicago waived him Sept. 2. Belton, who entered the NFL with Detroit as a college free agent on April 30, 2004, spent the 2005 season on Chicago’s practice squad and was on the Lions’ practice squad for most of his rookie year in 2004.
Belton spent all but one week in 2005 on the Bears’ practice squad. As a rookie in 2004, he began the year on Detroit’s practice squad before being signed to the club’s active roster for two games (did not play in both contests). Belton was signed to the Bears’ active roster from Detroit’s practice squad for Chicago’s regular-season finale but was inactive for that game.
In two seasons at Syracuse University following his transfer from Northwest Mississippi Community College, Belton totaled 327 yards on 61 carries (5.3 avg.). There's a guy on Broncosmania who is sporting a "Free Thump" signature just because he likes the name and thinks it fits a fullback. I think the guy is practice squad/camp fodder, but who knows?
