Hey Audiophiles!
Got a question for ya. I have an MP3 of a song that I like, but I don't like the ending. It's from a movie and the song ends and then, right after fade-out, the main title of the movie plays. I only want the first part of the song, not the ending main title song. How can I edit that track so I can shave off those last few seconds of the ending title theme? Or can that even be done?
Hope you understand what I'm talking about!

Try audacity or goldwave (just google them and you should find a free download) I found goldwave easier to use and I was looking to do the same thing you are describing. I posted this request a couple of weeks ago....
and then a bunch of people will go off on a tangent about how crappy the quality of MP3s is.

You can covert it to to .wav and simply edit in MS sound editor. Nero has a pretty nifty sound editor that can edit without the conversion step -- i use it to make ringtones. Those are the two cheapest ways that I know of. Of course, there are a brazillion expensive audio programs that would take 2 seconds to google.

Audacity is all you'll ever need.
audacity is simple for simple stuff - every want to get into some real heavy stuff, go with cakewalk.

Hope you understand what I'm talking about!I edit my album rips in Audition (track separation, removing silence, dithering, etc...). Haven't used it but Audacity is free and is suppose to work pretty well.
