Reportedly on Ed Schultz show today, the Dems in the House caved into everything Bush wanted in the bill to pay for Iraq.
No Timeline.
Weak benchmarks Bush can waive.
Pathetic. Not my party. Any Dems that vote for this B.S. bill are cowards, and should be sent to Iraq with M-16s to fend for themselves.

Childish games??? What would you like them to do Kemo Sabe? Waste more time and money dragging the same bill to the WH for the "arrogant one" to veto again. They don't have enough backing to overide the "King".
Nothing short of impeaching both the "king and the queen" will solve this particular issue.
The ones' who don't support/ nor agree with this bill should just walk the **** out in protest since their votes wont make a difference. We have a little hard headed asshole in the white house and unless we fumigate the place the rotten stench will remain untill 2009.

The Dems don't have the votes to override a veto. They don't have many options. You don't thing bushii is enough of a sociopath to veto funding for beans and bullets, and let the troops suffer? If so, you haven't been watching. It's no secret. His "plan" is to **** the troops over till 1-20-09, and then blame the dims. That is a sociopath.
Bushii now has to admit the all-ah-mucky govt isn't doing what it needs to do to even approach reconcilliation, but say publically he wants to keep the troops there. I really think enough gopers will break ranks to pull the plug on this thing before Jan. 20, 2009. Not all of them are sociopaths, and all of them want to stay in office.

That's who is not making the difference. Those Ball-less Repubs who voted against the bill in the first place need to show some balls! The Dems can't change the course with Dumbya waving his veto pen!

Back to reality? This presumes he was ever rationale. I don't think so. The 2000 primary was a coronation. The only time he was challanged, Rove swiftboated McCain. He never intended a balanced budget. He never intended to be a "uniter." I think he did initially envision doing away with social security and medicare. The media simply refused to demand he answer one on one questions. He was a card board cut out intended to be a an office holder. He was a blank slate, and cheney, rummy and wolfy used him for their insane version of neocolonialism. And that's a bit different from neo-conservatism.
Impeahment is not the answer. It was wrong in 1998 or whenever.
Warner and Graham know Petreaus said fall of 07 was when we'd know if the surge was having any positive effect. More so, the surge was to impress upon all-ah-mucky that the US would up the committment, but he had to come through too. IF he hasn't, then there has to be a "Plan B."
I'm assuming this will initially entail some force remain to secure that Iran and Syria don't encroach upon a civil war, but I think we'll still be taking casualties, and after Jan 20, 2009, we'll see some regional summitt to get a cease fire.

Yep. That's my point. Violent action to reclaim what is "ours"...(The "we the people" thing)...will not do anything but force a violent reaction - and certify the gov't to treat us - the people - like criminals. Guilty before innocent.

Here's the deal in a nutshell. The dems have got to reach out to people like these. I'm not going to vote for anyone who denies the troops anything, and I don't care (much) if they raise my taxes a little to do it.
Frankly, I'm just not too sympathetic in general to the military after meeting guys who retired with engineering type degrees and are now getting much dinero double dipping. Nothing illegal, but they don't compare to teachers, imo, of how much they give for so little compensation. There's just this "we're so special" smell to them. But, there's no doubt these folks have been ****ed over. It's not right.
But simply defunding a war, and making the troops come home with their tails between their legs (assuming they have two legs) is not gonna make it. This little girl doesn't want that; she still likes the military. We may not be able to stop a civil war, but the Dims have to work with the Warners and Grahams who are eventually going to end this.
And showing any weakness towards abandoning the troops, will let bushii of the hook. His legacy needs to be this family
