I will be in Tampa in July and we are considering going to the Devil Ray game against Boston on July 29th. How long would it take to get from Tropicana field to the airport??

You are looking at about 20-30 minutes... I don't live there now but I lived there for 4 years. Make sure to check out Ft. Desoto beach if you get the chance. I think it's the best beach in the Tampa Bay area. It's quite a bit south... even south of the Trop but it's worth the drive if you have the time.

Depends on the day of the week and time. I'd say 30mins to an hour would be a safe estimate. It's all pretty much highway/interstate but the traffic can be a bitch.

Any of you Florida folks affected by all the smoke and fires?

Thanks guys! I'm thinking it will pretty much rule out a trip to the game. The game is at 1:40 and our flight is at 6pm. I was hoping to be able to catch a couple of hours, though. Who knows, maybe I'll switch our flight out to Monday morning.

The sky here has been overcast with smoke since late last week. You could see it, smell it, almost taste it. It began to clear up a bit for Mom's day, and it is looking much better today.
The thing that's really hurting us right now is absolutely beautiful weather. Sounds crazy, but the blue not-a-cloud-in-the-sky weather has brought a drought to the area. We haven't had our normal every afternoon thunderstorms. Water restrictions are being followed now - watering your lawn 1 day a week during a certain time period only. $125 fine for the first offense.
Holy smokes, I just heard some thunder. Right on. I better get outside and put the top up on the Jeep.
