I'm not sure if Seau was in Miami when Bates was there but I understand Seau is a free agent. I'm curious to know if Bates seriously considered him or if he believes Seau is done.

He's pulled a Lynch, but he's done IMO. NO.

Seau's whole game was based on his ridiculous athletic ability. When he was still with the Bolts...the Rat would take advantage of Seau's penchant to ignore his assignments at least once a game. The yardage would be huge. But overall his natural ability was so gross that even when he was seemingly a mile out of position...he'd still make or at least be in on the play.

I don't know that there's a backer in the league today that could sniff Seau (in his prime) in terms of pure athleticism. Urlacher doesn't come close.

I think he's done. He's made some good money in football...has a thriving sports bar here in Mission Valley...and if Billy Ray Smith can get a job in the media on John Lynch's station...Seau can blow it up.

I hated his bs celebrations after routine plays...always after miraculously coming back from an injury...but the guy was/is a fantastic football player.

One of the most over rated players in history. He is done.
