True but then he shouldn't try to play then and just leave the program and pay his bonus back. Its simple enough, except for he probably spent most of the bonus.

I am all for pot being legal. But its not and the NFL has it as a banned substance. If Sticky Icky Ricky wants to play he has to abide by the rules of his association. This just shows he could care less about playing football and should just stop and find a way to pay back the money.

In all seriousness, I feel legitimately bad for the guy. There will be a day, not all that far in the future, where he will feel horrible for having pissed away an opportunity almost no one gets. I am still in my 30's, so I don't get too many chances to say this - yet. But youth is definitely wasted on the young.

That's exactly what I'm referring to. When he's 40 and his electricity gets turned off for the fourth month in a row, he's going to wish he had managed his career/earnings a little better. When you're in your 20's, when he made a lot of his irreversible decisions, you probably don't get that seven-figure jobs don't come along very often.

I believe their payout structure is currently $467.50 per month per credited season @ age 55.

Look, if you're going to piss away all your money to the point where your electricity gets turned off at 40, it probably wouldn't have mattered how much you earned in your 20s. What brings down most of these fools is delinquent child support payments. Trust me, none of these guys are signing autographs at the mall because they like it.

i truly think rickys problem is that-like many 'mane members-his attitude is, "its only pot". but unlike them, he's tested for his use and his employment depends on him not smoking it.
for some people it is a problem. if a person cant give it up for a few years for the privilage(sp) of making millions and playing in the nfl. i think that person has a problem with that drug.

With Ricky though, I don't get it. I mean he wouldn't have to work too hard to convince the NFL that he has a medical need for "happy pills," and I'm sure he can find a shrink to prescribe them.
