View Full Version : Fan Fair Questions?

Just have a quick question for all or any of you who have attended the Broncs Fan Fair days: Is it worth it? I have 3 younger boys and planned to take them, from the website it looks great, but I thought I had better ask the real 'pros'. How much wait time is there? How many players attend? How crowded is the place? My only concern is that my youngest son is 3 and not quite all day material? Here's the website: http://www.denverbroncos.com/fanfair

Thanks!

I went last year and it was nice to say that I had been in Invesco stadium and the events were pretty neat... it's just that there were too many people. To get autographs anywhere, you had to wait in line for hours at a time. I waited 2-3 hours to get autographs and by the time I made it to the front of the line, they had switched the people two or three times and I ended up with something like a Brian Clark. It was really bad for those trying to get superstar autographs (ie Champ, Jake, etc).

Having kids would make it a lot better though, the lines for kids to get autographs was a lot shorter and there were quite a few with legit players. The on field activities were pretty neat as well and the kids seemed to be having a blast in those.

All in all, I enjoyed it since I'd never been to Invesco before and there was a bit where they talked to the rookies and you got to play 20 questions with em... all that was neat but the autograph side of the house was miserable as I spent hours waiting and ended the day with a Brian Clark, an Antwon Burton and... some other schmuck. Since I've done it once though, I doubt I'd go back. That's just my personal opinion though.

If you are doing it to spend quality time with your children, why in the world would you NOT do it? Get the kids out with you and make a day out of it. I am looking at airfare hoping to take my lady to the stadium.

I lived in Denver from 1963 to1973. I took my sons to see bronco players twice at their school.

I agree with all of this. I really only liked going for the player/coach Q&A and to get pictures with some of the players. They didn't have the Q&A last year, and that was one of the highlights of the whole thing for me. They replaced it with stupid games like Bronco Bingo and trivia. If you like to collect autographs, which I don't care about, then be prepared to wait for a long time. Having kids will help you out, though. It is definitely worth going to at least once, though. I got some pictures with some of my favorite players last time.

If you expect to get those boys brainwashed to love the Broncos, there's no time like the present.

But seriously, unless you have something better to do on that day, just spending time with your kids is worth it in itself. Especially if they've never been to the stadium.

If you want to take thier experience to the next level though, you can't beat Arrowhead Stadium.;)

Yeah but if he did that and his kids inadvertently met GoChiefs in the parking lot, they'd be scarred for life.

Don't go unless you're bringing your kids. All the "name" players that most people want autographs from usually only sign in the kids line, and the lines for all the other autographs take longer to get to the front than the guys are there. So you basically have to get in line and hope that someone you want is signing when you finally get to the front.

I'd say if you or your kids haven't been in the stadium than it's worth it just to cruise around. If autographs are what you are after I'd say training camp is a much better bet.

Every year we Broncos fans always leave the same feedback about fan fair and the Broncos never seem to change a thing.

I know it's the offseason but if they are going to charge people to come to the stadium they should atleast have enough players mingling with the fans so people can get a few autographs.

It seems they could make the event a bit more interactive if they invited alumni to participate. I'd imagine they could flush out a dozen or so old timers to hang out in shifts?

Dang, I am going to the Fan Fair and I am a bit disappointed to hear some of the comments here. Not really sure what to expect from it, but I figured it would be cool just to hang out with other fans and hopefully see some team favorites. I am going by myself as I don't have a family or any friends who are rabid Broncos fans like I am.

If I had a one track mind and just wanted to get, say, Jay Cutlers autograph, I'm pretty much rolling the dice whether or not I'll actually get to him?

Exactly Chawknz... the first thing is to look and see what day he'd be signing, he wont be there on the other day. Then you have to find out where he'll be signing and try to time yourself to get there. I may be mistaken but I believe big name folks that weren't in the kids lines had their times and locations advertised, I didn't participate in any of that stuff though so I don't know. But if you don't know what it'll be like, that means you haven't gone before. I'd say it's worth it to go the first time, just to say you've been and there are some decent events. Like I said before, the rookie Q&A was neat and while I was there my wife was playing bingo. Going once isn't a total waste, I just personally wouldn't go a second.

Just found OF1 will be at fan fair. DenverTucsonLink and RaidersSuck will be rolling her down there tomorrow. If anyone wants to use the bus as a place to meet up you are more than welcome to swing on by. They'll have the grill fired up if you want to bring something to BBQ.

I asked RS to fly the old school Broncos flag tomorrow to set the mojo!

Last time I was at fan fare they had us park on the south side of the stadium. I'd imagine that's where they will be parking will be this year.

I ran into RS and a few of the "builders" yesterday. Took my daughter and a friend down to the stadium. I thought I'd get a chance to shoot the **** with ya, but RS told me he's Babysitting for ya.

I'll see ya in the lot come August!

Yeah I would have made the trek down but I had a crew running up here that I had to manage. I'll be down in August for sure.

How was fan fair?

Well that sucks but it's what I expected. If anyone has any pictures put them up. Also if anyone attended the Q&A, or for those of us who don't have comcast, if you could please post what was said it would be appreciated.

If I had kids and I lived closer I'd take them for sure.

I remember the first few times I saw an NFL stadium in Mile High, and it is awe inspiring for hicks from South Dakota to see stuff like that. :P

Yeah, thats what I got out of it too. Couldnt believe people were waiting in line for hours to get autographs of guys that will be working at Sears in a couple months. Might be better when the kid is a little older, even then I dont know if it would be worth the hassel.

The tour was decent, not as interesting as the tour of Dove Valley I took last month though.

Yeah... I was one of those fools last year and got in line while Carswell was there... when I ended up at the autograph section like 2 hours later it was Brian Clark, Antwon Burton and... I think it was a Jeff Williams or something like that. I've since found out who two of those guys who caused me to waste hours of my life were.. still don't know the 3rd guy.

Hmm same feedback year after year. I would have thought the Broncos might adjust something by now?

For as much promotion they put into this event trying to get people out there you'd think they could make it a little more "Fan Friendly"?

Obviously the Broncos are popular in Denver but it seems like they could do a better job of getting more players to participate or better yet inviting Alumni?

I know one particular alumni really well and he said "We get forgotten about and people don't really hear about us until we end up in jail or dead".

Why not extend an invite to all the former Broncos Alum in the area and have the mingling around in the crowd, on the field, around the stadium?

I'm sure there are logistics I don't understand but if the Broncos are going to bill this event as a day for the fans it needs to be a day for the fans.

With ticket prices, parking prices, concession prices going thru the roof sure seems like just one day could be given back to the people who foot those bills.

Hopefully I'll meet a few of the staff who are involved in public relations when I attend a social down at dove valley later this month. I have several comments/ ideas which would improve the atmosphere for the fans at the "fair", and of course plenty of ideas to make the tailgating a bit more "fan friendly"!

I went to FanFair the first year it existed. I was kinda bored, and we didn't get any autographs. I did get a picture taken with Steve Beuerlein though. I don't have a scanner so I can't scan it in, but it's a decent pic.
