With Grady Jackson possibly retiring they figured they would sign 375 lbs. of pure domination.

Dude, Grady last played for the Saints 5 years ago.

Three trips to the buffet before he costs more than he's worth.

I think he makes it.

He isn't in the best city for remaining clean, sober and out of contact with criminals.

go to his myspace space and re-think that...he is a gangsta in every sense of the word...he has no business in the NFL

I already did. There's no evidence he's a gangster. He was charged...I emphasize "charged" with conspiracy to commit robbery...no idea if he's been acquitted, if the charges were dropped or whatever...and that part concerns me of course...but there is no evidence he's involved with gang activity. You'd probably be shocked how many NFL players have a lifestyle of similiar associations as this cat. D-Will was one of them. He got arrested rollin' in East Fort Worth at 3:00 am with his car stereo blaring away and weed in his car. Give the kid a chance before you toss him under the bus with the gangster stuff...that's pure speculation.

Well based on physical talent alone he should make it --and do well. Its just that there are so many factors in this case. Work ethic comes to mind, along with the fact that he so little experience playing against folks with real talent.

He will be an interesting case study -- if he ends up starting for the Saints, we may see the Broncos have tryouts at the Denver State Penn to dredge up potental monsters.

Once again...outside of a single charge on his record...and it occured two years ago so one would think it might have been dismissed or he'd be in jail by now...there is no evidence that he's anything more than a kid who couldn't handle the academics at OSU. He dropped out of community college because of the legal issue, not because of discipline or being unwilling to go to class, etc... Whatever red flags are on his record, they're fewer than a lot of guys already in the league at this point. He's incredibly raw, so I'm thinking he might be headed for NFLE for at least a year. Read the comments by LSU's head coach when this kid was a freshman. He said it was virtually impossible to run anywhere to his side of the line. He was dominating at the Big 12 level as a true freshman before he left. How many #1 draft picks could that be said of? Galveston is close to New Orleans...so he's close to family...I'm thinking that's probably the best place for this kid to be right now. The Saints got a high ceiling player with no risk.

This dude is destined to be a pro wrestler, not a pro football player. Hell, he'll probably make more wrastlin.

I cant say that I am not facinated by the guy -- I love folks who have super strength -- he would be a blast to watch.

But to me he seems like a Raider type of pick -- very good measurables, and high risk. So he may be not as bad as folks have been painting him, but there have been some on this board pointing toward possible gang connections? There may not be enough evidence to say this for sure, but after DW, I dont care, there is a bad taste in my mouth for anyone who may have this connection. Make sense?

Maybe not totally accurate to say he signed a free agent contract. A neutral party witnessed him laboriously scrawl an X on a free agent contract.

No it doesn't make sense. The so called "gang connections" are completely unfounded, and have been innacurately portrayed that way because somebody posted on the other thread that he was part of the "tre tre crips"...the same gang that is supsected of killing D-Will. They got that off his myspace site where he mentions the "Tre Side". Tre Side is a hip hop recording label and promotions company based in Galveston where he's from. They also have a my space site:

His picture is on the Tre Side myspace several times. Apparently he's friends with these people and they all live in Galveston, but there is zero evidence of any kind that this has any connection with the gang that killed D-Will. Somebody else posted that "Tre Side" is a common expression for people in the gulf coast region that means "third side"...as in the third coast of the United States.

As for the vulgarity of his myspace site...I've seen equally vulgar stuff on THIS website on a regular basis.

Make sense?
