Ya know, I have a hard time hating on Millen like alot of other's on this board do. I know he's a lousy GM, and he should have been fired three years ago, but to me, that is more a reflection of crappy ownership.

The reason I have a soft spot for Millen is SB XXIV. As the Broncos were wiped all over the field by the Niners, he was the one player who actually tried to encourage a downtrodden Elway. Elway had a lousy game, the team, as a whole had a terrible game (the worst lopsided score in SB history), but Millen still had respect enough for Elway to grab him and encourage him as Elway walked off the field, with his head down.

Anyhow, just thought I'd throw that out there....

Crappy ownership=crappy product. I'll never own another Ford product. Piece of **** left me and my family stranded in Utah on our way to a family reunion. Only 40k on the odometer. Fugg Ford forever.

I feel sorry for Millen. He works for the Monforts (Ford Family) of the NFL.

Nice comparison!

The Rockies will continue to suck until the current ownership sells the team...

Um, what is so crappy about the ownership? There's a salary cap. What has millen done to improve the team? He has spent 4 top 10 picks on WR's. Let me say that again. Matt Millen has spent 4 top 10 picks on WR's. He drafted a QB #3 overall when it was known, IMO, he wasn't worthy of the high selection. Millen brings in the FA's. Millen brings in the coaches. And you want to blame the crappy ownership? Maybe you're right. The ownership is crappy to have Matt Millen making the decisions. The owner are crappy because they continue to put their trust in Matt Millen. I agree, the ownership is crappy is because Matt Millen is around...

Totally calculated. Millen knew ten million cameras were going to follow Elway off the field. He also knew no cameras were going to be on his fat ass, unless he did something to put them there. Trust me, Matt Millen has never had a truly generous moment in his life.

Personally, I think what he did with Charles Rogers and Roy Williams was more than generous.

Matt Millen is such a good guy he refers to the men who've played for him as devout cowards and ******s. You know, maybe I'm mistaken, but I've never heard Mike Shanahan, Bill Belichick or 99% of the other men who are the face of their franchises refer to current or former players in those terms, either.

Anyway, props to Millen for showing the savvy to get his ugly face on camera in that many million homes. Self promotion has always been his number one talent.

Here's how Matt Millen leaves the field after he loses in the post season:

Classy as always. Its not apparent from that photograph, but Millen actually clipped Patriot GM Patrick Sullivan with a swung helmet. I wonder how Roger Goodell would react to a player doing something like this today?

Below, you can see Matt's classy playing style. Combining a clumsy arm tackle with blatantly dirty play.

Big fat self-promoting douchebag and his record as President of the Lions is 24-72. The Lions would have to go undefeated for three consecutive seasons to get this clown back to .500.

Man, do I really need to explain why it's ownership's fault that the Lions suck and have a lousy GM? Ok, here it goes: It's ownerships fault because THEY DID NOT FIRE THE CRAPPY GM THREE YEARS AGO. IT'S OWNERSHIPS FAULT BECAUSE THE RENEWED THE LOUSY GM'S CONTRACT.

There, do you get it now?

Let me make another comparison or two for you: Pat Bowlen, good owner, expects results, provides leadership at the top (but does not dictate to subordinates how to win). Bob Kraft, good owner, expects results, provides leadership at the top.

The Fords, lousy owners, don't expect results, does not hold GM accountable for terrible drafts, or lousy team record.

Now do you understand?

Matt Millen is an ahole, that's true. But Pat Sullivan was a total punk, running up to players after they lose a playoff game and taunting them. Daddy's little boy running the team. So, you have to pick between and ahole and a punk. Back in those days, I think if you held a contest in Patsland with the prize being an opportunity to punch Pat Sullivan, every Patsfan on the Eastern seaboard would have anted up.

Al Davis used to be a real peach too...

Davis ranted again about how the league screwed him out of Elway at the owner's meeting this march...Adam Schefter covered the story. He went on about not completing the trade for John, saying he should never have been a Bronco. You gotta love coots with brainlock...they're like an old dog with a bone. Can't let it go!

"ELWAY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RAIDER!!"

*shakes fists in useless frustation, 24 years later*

He hopes to ease his ache with Jamarcus Russell.

Good old Greasy Al. Tries to treat Rozelle like his biatch, and then when it backfires, he whines about it.

No joke.. my wife owned an Escape (2000 I guess). The thing would stall fairly often just by going downhill. Complete loss of power, so the power breaks where gone, power steering was gone, everything. Scared the hell out of me that she would lose it while headed into an interesection or something. A simple search yielded thousands of people having the same problem...Ford simply denied it. Literally nothing we could do.

We ended up taking a hit on that car.. traded it in 18 months after she bought it and got a VW Diesel (which has been beyond solid). I think they did recall it about a year later.. but too little to late.

Screw Ford.
