Pretty interesting how wildly varied the opinions are, even for the same team.

The consensus is that Denver grades out to about a B-

The only reason Denver is graded down is for the character questions surrounding Thomas and Moss, in regards to Moss - I think it's completely over and done with. A second possible reason, are the trades involved - but sometimes you have to do what you have to do in order to get the player you want. Hopefully, Denver has three starting lineman on the DL in the future, and a future LT (or RT) in Harris for the future.

Better make it the day after. Mock might play hardball for the cat, and even after I obtain it we'll still want to give it plenty of time in the booze for optimum flavor.

Oh, and bring some kebabs.

This Roger Goodell "New NFL" is just getting blown out of proportion.

Were these "trouble" guys supposed to be undrafted?

Not allowed in the NFL?

I'm willing to give them 1 chance in the NFL.

They screw up, later.

These trouble guys that bounce from team to team with 2nd,3rd,4th chances concern me more than a couple of college kids showing bad judgement.

Leonard Little still lines up on Sundays and he killed somebody....

How old is he, mock? I'm dubious of making promises without knowing for sure just how tender the meat would be, but I'm certainly willing to make a deal. How about a lifetime supply of Camo Ice, for starters?

You would have to marinade a cat a pretty long time because that is one stringy critter. Try some Worcestershire sauce for 48 hours to neutralize the tang but once pour out the marinade. Don't cook with it! Rinse is it off then rub pepper and fresh garlic salt on it some salsa to flavor.

I wouldn't eat Beezer if I were you guys. Cats just don't have enough vitamins in them to make it worthwhile. Nothing worst than hanging around guys picking their teeth and farting cat into the air.

sooooo, back to the thread: the variability in ratings shows that there isn't any reliable methodology out there, despite the myriad numbers crunched. i just hope we get one maybe two STARTERS out of this draft. If they don't start, we don't improve (as quickly).
It is interesting that the opinions offered by all the brainiacs tend to put us below: Steelers, Patriots, Colts, our most recent nemeses.

I believe that this draft's success all hinges on how well Marcus Thomas turns out. If he puts his troubles behind him and plays to his potential this draft will be a success. We are getting bashed for taking players with character issues when a new conduct policy has just been introduced.

From my understanding the only way that draft picks would be taken away is if we continue to draft players with character issues and they screw up. We haven't had players getting in trouble for the most part, so I don't see a problem with taking some chances on talented but somewhat troubled players.

Now if the Bengals or Titans would have drafted him then I could see an outrage. From what I've read Denver and Tennessee were the only teams willing to give Thomas a chance. I just don't understand the outrage over our picks. I say wait to see how the players play and if they get into trouble then start to criticize, but otherwise give the players the benefit of the doubt to have another chance to correct their mistakes.

Funny how NE gets and "incomplete" for doing the same thing we did -- take a chance on "value" that has resulted over character issues.

I heard a great line by Dave Logan on 850 KOA yesterday... it went something like this: "if teams only drafted from a pool of players that had never made a mistake, it would be a shallow pool". They estimate that roughly 75% of these guys have tried marijuana. Somehow Calvin Johnson gets bonus points in the media for admitting it, but Moss and Thomas get "character flags".

Leonard Little still lines up on Sundays and he killed somebody....
Excellent point. You could go on and on with examples like this.

The potential of our DL is now very high. If we found a couple solid starters I would call it a success. Having some DL developed from our own system will be a welcome change to picking up scabs.

I really like the possiblities of Moss, Warren, Thomas, and Dumerville on our DL. With Ekuban, Lang, Crowder, Veal, McKinley, and Engelberger we have depth and a decent rotation.

The media love affair with New England just blows my mind. Merriweather has gun charges, likes to stomp on peoples heads yet he will be just fine in New England. Randy Moss tried to run over a female police officer in downtown Minneapolis, he quits when it's not all about him and he has told the media that he still smokes weed on occasion but he'll but just fine in New England.

They have GRRREEEAT veteran leadership over there!

Draft analysis

Sorting out the winners and losers

By Nolan Nawrocki
April 30, 2007

Denver
The Broncos have historically been bold going after their target, and they had reason to believe that Cincinnati was interested in Jarvis Moss. Marvin Lewis was infatuated with Moss’ talent. But collectively, with the character concerns present, the Bengals had decided to address their secondary first, as did the Jaguars, and the Broncos did not have to give up the back half of their draft to get him. Nor did they need to give up three more picks, including a third-rounder next year, to land DT Marcus Thomas, a player with very shaky character who very well could have been available a round or two later. Losing George Foster, Tatum Bell and a fifth-rounder in a pre-draft trade for CB Dré Bly and a sixth would appear to be a wash, given the inconsistencies of all three players, especially given that Foster and Bell had worn out their welcome. The two best picks of the day were DE Tim Crowder, who very well might turn out to be a more consistent and better pro than Moss, and OT Ryan Harris, who might start from Day One in their scheme. If Shanahan can keep Moss and Thomas in line, he could have four starters, but the Broncos get downgraded for unnecessary trades.
Grade: Good

Figured this might help you guys and your BBQ plans.

SKINNING YOUR CAT
There’s more than one way to skin a cat- our exhaustive research uncovered two. On this site, two High School students meticulously guide you step-by-step through skinning a cat - complete with diagrams. To summarize, use a sharp knife to trim off the skin, and pull it back, snipping away at the muscle tissue.

Gourmands like to skin their cats differently. They hate using a skining knife, calling it crude. They reccomend you grab the loose skin around the head stump, and using a pair of pliers, peel it back off the carcass like a banana, rolling it off the body. The final step before cooking is to wash the meat of stray gristle and hairs. Nobody likes cat hair in their food.

COOKING YOUR CAT
Now you are ready to cook! Some people recommend placing a cat in a very high powered magnetron microwave. This device supposedly can cook a cat in approximately 10 minutes- the proteins are denatured (cooked), and sugars caramelized by microwave heating. The cat may be "cooked" but will it taste good? If you've ever tried to microwave a raw hamburger, you'll know the answer is "no." For the best taste, use a slow cooking method on a feline. The best I've found is slow cooked Beer Roasted Cat. Other cat recipes you may enjoy are classic Cat Tamales, Cat in Spicy Ginger Sauce, and Cat Au Gratin.

BEER ROASTED CAT
1 cat cut into roast
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
1 cube of beef bouillon
1 clove of garlic
1 Fine Irish Stout, like Guinness

Cover and soak cat roast in salt water for 24 hours. Drain water and then cover and soak in beer for 6 hours. Drain and place in crock pot with your cans of soup. Add a clove of garlic, and a cube of beef bouillon. If you start to slow cook your cat in the morning with your George Foreman Cooker (or it's ilk), you'll have finely cooked feline in time for supper.

If a slow cooker is not available, a cat can be baked at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours in a conventional oven and still come out pretty good. Beer Roasted Cat is fantastic served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and fresh, homemade rolls. When planning a full meal just remember- cat is a course best served hot!

Cat may not be the most glamorous, or tastiest of game meats, but with a little thought and preparation, Baked Cat can make the belly of the pickiest diner glow with home baked goodness.
