Was anyone else thrilled to see the 49rs take Patrick Willis? No, not because he will immediately upgrade their team or anything like that. Rather, I cheered when I saw the pick because of all those whiny Bills fans who were talking so much smack on their site about how they were going to kill us in the opening game and how Patrick Willis was going to knock us around. Thank you 49rs, for screwing at least the vocal minority of whiny Bills fans! :notworthy

In my experience Bills fans know less about football, but talk bigger than anyone except Bob and his retarded little sisters Crazy and kcmartin.

I'm not happy with the 49ers. Last year they take Lawson and V. Davis. I know we have Cutler and I'm incredibly happy about that. I'm just envious that they are getting so many quality players. I think the last 2 years they have had really solid drafts.

When Lawson and Willis put it together that's gonne be an amazing set of playmakers. Davis will turn out to be a stud as well.

I'm glad so Denver wasn't tempted to trade up for him.

If your team doesn't win many games, you will get good draft positions, and anyone can have a good draft if they are picking in teh upper 10 spots all the time.
I would not want to be a 49er fan. They are in a losing cycle, and it will likely take tham another year to get on the winning side of things with any consistency. That is not to say they are not moving in the right direction because they are. And Nolan has done a good job. But how many years of losing have they racked up?

I agree, but for different reasons. He was out of the AFC and went to a team I don't have to hate. I like Mike Nolan too. I was pleased.

They were 7-9 last year and are the only team in their conference to make major additions. Was Clement worth the money? No, but he's better than every other CB in the division. They got Jackson from a division rival for a 4th rounder too. Add in more pieces to Nolan's 3-4 defense, a young LT, and a healthy Vernon Davis and you've got a recipe for a very good record against the weak NFC West.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if they come out on the winning side of their gamble with '08 firsts, sending theirs to NE and getting Indy's. 10-6 with a division title isn't out of the question.

Unless you take Joey Harrington and 4 WRs with your last five "top 10" picks.

I'm not sure how to take that...especially from you. I debated writing it and then I remembered something: this is a social community on the internet devoted to thoughts/attitudes/takes/opinions/etc. about the Broncos, so I went ahead.

My favorite non-Bronco pick was when Bush came off the board. I was dog tired of hearing how we should pick him.

I get what your saying, but I hate to see the Raiders take Bush. I think he has a chance to be a really good NFL back when he gets healthy. Before he got injured, he was a first round pick for sure and the Raiders got him in the 4th. He might not contribute much (or at all) this year, but then again who would with that horrific OL in Oakland. He could be a steal for them much like I hope Marcus Thomas was a steal for Denver in the 4th.

I am not a big fan of bush. hes big like 6'2 and runs big and is not very quick. in college he might be able to do that but in the NFL it means injuries.
