Adam Schefter reported that the Eagles have released Jones. I am not 100% familiar with his performance, but he seems to be a decent veteran.
Would he be worth pursuing?

If he can play the stong-side and comes on the cheap, sure. Plus, he could bring some of his purty bow ties.

Here are his stats:
Ht: 6' 1"
Wt: 240
Age: 28
College: Michigan
NFL Experience: 7th season
Drafted: 2000 - Rd 6 (177th overall) by the Giants
Seems to have decent size. Anyone know why he wouldn't be a good pickup...aside from his affinity for bow ties? Just curious.

He sucks and I don't think he is an improvement over the two guys we recently brought in.

Dhani Jones was overrated when the Eagles made the mistake of signing him two years ago. He struggled to adjust to Jimmy Johnson's defense and underperformed the last 2 years. He was going to be cut this year no matter who the Eagles signed/drafted.
Plus, he's another character concern after his dancing with the cops episode in Florida.
I would be shocked if Denver signed him or if he competes for a starting job in the league again.

Why would we need a turd like Jones when we just signed 2 All-Pro's in Holdman and DD Lewis???

He puts alot more effort into his clothing than he does on the field. I hate to agree with a Raider fan, but he totally sucks

He's more into being a celebrity than a football player.

He is the product of over-hyped NY Giants players in general. The fact that he's good in front of a camera and a snappy dresser...these are the only reasons Dhani Jones is known by fans in the league.

I hate the Eagles and do not follow them at all, so I was unaware of his on the field performance. However, I do remmeber his run-in with the South Florida Police and his affinity for bow ties.
Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like he's not worth the time and effort.
Go Broncos!!

Actually, if you look up stats for our new guy Holdman, and compare the to Dhani Jones, they pretty much have simular stats. Dhani Jones is overrated.

How can you be "overrated" when everyone knows you suck? ;D

Jones is a true Weakside. We got enough of them.

Pass- I'd rather start Warrick Holdman at this juncture, then draft a sam backer next year...

We have one matador already named Warrick Holdman---why add another??

Dhani Jones sucked equally at both OLB spots in Philadelphia.

I say yes. He'd beat out the two we just signed. Of course he's not great, but he'll due
