After reading that Denver wanted to get Johnson at #2...I came to the belief that it may have been another person that denver was targeting...that person being A. Peterson.
Here is why I think this...
The possibility of the trade took place during the combine...which was before Denver signed travis henry to a new deal....with that Denver had a much bigger need at RB than WR...so who was the best RB available, and projected at the time to go possibly in the top 5? A. Peterson!!!!!
Although I may be a rookie in this whole thread thing I definately feel that this is what was truly Denvers motive in getting the #2 spot in the draft...
what do you all think?
