Three other undrafted Gators, fullback Billy Latsko, center Steve Rissler and defensive tackle Steven Harris, also signed free agent deals shortly after the draft, with the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, respectively.

Probably the scouts were looking at one or two players and ended up being familiar with that entire front four. I'm actually suprised we didn't take Mcdonald over Carriker and just grab all four starting Gator linemen lol.

It looks like Shanahan still has strong connections in Gainesville from his early 80s coaching days.

Oh for the love of god, if we are going to go after defensive lineman with checkered pasts, why couldn't we have signed the Walter "I can do a backflip" Thomas?
Now we can't sign him because we have maxed out our arrest/suspension quota.

I'm hoping to land Everett! I want to get a young backer into camp and see him compete with the older vets (Holdam/Davis) for a spot.

I don't like this move at all. We need to get Moss and Thomas away from their previous problems, not bring them along. If we want to get another Florida guy bring in Everett.
BAD MOVE SHANNY!! Hopefully he doesn't last past camp.
Why we haven't brought in JD Nelson I don't know, I wouldn't mind getting him.

I don't think Everett could compete for the open SAM job since he is built for a WILL role but he would be great to bring in nonetheless, since this is most likely Ian's last year with the club. We need to groom a nice prospect at his spot and Everett is a decent LB.

CB's were two years ago, offense in general was last year, D-line was this year, so I have a feeling that LB and S will be next year.
Hopefully Holdman can man the SLB for a couple of years and we only have to address one LB spot next year.

That's because Ian has outplayed his boy now two years in a roll.

Haha...yes I do hate him...but, seriously Mock, the team apparently does not like him a whole lot more than I do, Requiem and I reported on this in another thread on the basis of two different sources (one of which he can back me up on). He will likely be gone next year and apparently does not fit into the future plans of the team.

Looking at the LB core of the systems Bates has used in previous years it's hardly a suprise.

Even beyond Bates's system, as you know from that prior thread, the team is very disappointed in Ian's play and he was specifically brought in and told that by Shanny.

Is there any Gator D-lineman without any character problems?Sheesh. I love the Moss and Thomas picks, because they have so much talent its worth any risk they might have. But I really hate bringing in someone with way more risk than them and having alot less talent to boot. I hope these three werent pot buddies. I have a feeling Thomas and Moss might have been since they were roomies and forced to separate.I dont really think pot is a big deal either as long as they stop it now. I mean College is the time were you do stupid stuff and get it all out of your system.

You know what would be great?
Forget the D Lineman, we should have gotten a slow white reciever from Florida in the third round that would hang on for 4 years doing absolutely nothing.
Oh wait.
