On the roster right now the Broncs have Warren, Veal, McKinley, Amon Gordon, and Antwon Burton. They're all over 290, and Burton is 325. I know everyone thinks we need a big fatty DT for Bates system, but maybe that's why we picked up McKinley.
I know we will pick up a UDFA DT at least, and probably a veteran DT (Grady Jackson maybe?) but what if Bates likes 4 out of 5 of these guys? That could be our rotation for the season!
Of course, if Walter Thomas was available at our 6th round pick..........

Point taken. But they have to start some time, right?
I dont think that Walter Thomas will be available when we pick, or the large tackle from Utah.
I dont know when these guys are projected to go, but here are another two folks that might fit the Bates two gap mentality (got this from another site)
Quinton Echols
DT 6-1, 328
An unmovable object in the middle of the field, Echols has been called the team's "space-eater" by the coaching staff for his ability to occupy multiple blockers. A member of the team's defensive line rotation for the past three years, his ability to clog the middle of the line and free up other teammates to make the play helped the Wildcats rank sixth in the nation with an average of 3.08 sacks and 18th with an average of 7.0 tackles behind the line of scrimmage per game in 2006.
Trey Lewis
6-3, 318
Shows good leverage and pad level on the pass rush and is very effective at pushing the pocket … Has an explosive short burst to flush out the quarterback out of the box.

But that's what I'm saying. Maybe Bates likes them, maybe he doesn't. That's what we don't know yet. If we draft no DTs and don't make a significant DT pickup we'll have our answer.
we need something more at DT..hopefully one of our two second day picks will be DT (maybe echols or walter thomas or louis leonard) and bring in a vet or two after june first to really give us some competition at least and some bodies in case injuries happen
