LOL

Who said we were excited about the mane going down? Just that we predicted it would.

There's' a distinct anti-OM tone on that forum. Dunno quite what's up with that, but it's definitely there. Whatever... *shrug*

The Mane really did pretty well today considering the amount of traffic here (well over 200 members online). At one point more than 80 posters were in the chatroom.

To each their own... The server handled the traffic really well today. There were a lot of major fan hubs that went down today.

I was impressed with the mane today. I got an error mesage maybe twice all day, and it really never slowed down enough to be frustrating.

I think two factors made it better today... first, the recommendation to use the chatroom took some of the pressure off the server... and second, the "paring down" (temporarily eliminating avatars/sigs) helped with bandwidth. I'm sure some posters either stayed offline or visited other forums, too... but in general, the Mane functioned very well on a high-traffic day.

I thought that it was nice of some of the guys to put up a link in case the Mane crashed during the draft. I don't think there is an anti-OM tone at the South Stands. Maybe a few smart ass comments, but a good percentage of the posters frequent the Mane as well as the South Stands.

Whatever you did, I suggest we do it on game days in the fall. I think we can all live without some of the little extras on Sunday nights. I noticed there aren't avatars or signatures, and you can't do stuff like seeing who is reading a thread. Those trade-offs are easy, if it means being able to get on here at high-traffic times.

I'm loyal to this place. I'm not saying that altruistically, either. You get to know the people in a place, and you feel like a stranger when you go somewhere else. Plus, everyone needs to keep reminding themselves that it's a free forum. It's frustrating when it goes down, but let's remember what we pay for it.

There's no valid reason for any rancor between the two boards. Each messageboard serves its purpose for the fanbase. It's impossible to ignore the fact that each mention of the Mane on your forum is almost immediately followed by a putdown of this website, however.... it is what it is. As TJ said, to each his own. :peace:

No it's not. I'd say there are probably more Denver fans there than Chief fans. Also, Ant is well established as a Broncos fan.

We don't put down the mane for no good reason. Not to mention most of us do check the mane and have fun with it. Besides - www.thesouthstands.com is more or less the remains of the old DPO board where the legendary NPN was created.

Heh... I'm well aware of the history. The old DPO board was where I found the link to the Mane when it first opened for business six years ago. ;)

The South Stands is a good messageboard for those who want a smaller discussion group, while the Mane has grown way beyond the "intimacy" of the "small online community" we were back in '01.

But there's no need for any negativity... like that displayed in Captain Poncho's post. No more needs to be said after that.... *shrug*

No one needed to bring up any perceived animousity in the first place. That's like turning on a signal beacon.

Oh i know because having someone stir the pot doesn't happen on the 'mane. lol

I'm sorry you think we're nothing but negative. I do like it over here and check it somewhat regularly. But, the Southstands is my "home" after CNNSI went down a few years ago.

We do make cracks, but it is in good fun. I certainly don't feel there is any "anti OM".

We are a smaller group of posters over there and like it that way. Nothing wrong with this place at all.

The WWW is plenty big enough for everyone. I know most everyone over there feels the same way. Especially the moderator, Junkie.

Having said that, I am looking forward to my first game IN Denver for the Bronco/Titan game with my wife who is a huge Titans fan.
