The Final Countdown. . .
It's almost only a day away, and since I'll be extremely busy tomorrow - I thought I'd post the final Broncos mock draft here tonight, so you guys can give your thoughts, hopefully enjoy it, and if you feel like it - bitch about it. Not going to go too in-depth, but I'll give what thoughts I can. I'm on a tight schedule.
First off, I'll just start off by saying this mock draft is with the Broncos staying. With them moving up, it doesn't even make sense to even do a mock. It's obvious who the likely targets are. I'm just going to assume for now, since there are no trades - that this is how it'd go down if we didn't trade up or down. It's not what I hope, it's just how I feel right now. Trying not to question anything, but I thought you'd guys enjoy. . .
Without further adieu. . .

First Round Selection, Justin Harrell - Defensive Tackle
I think Harrell is a fantastic pick here, and if we don't take a tackle in the first-round, I don't think there's much doing later on in the second and third-rounds, perhaps Paul Soliai who has that ability to do what we need to do inside; but I think our options are limited. There are a lot of positives about the kid, and he has the big frame to put on more weight. I'd hate to see this kid go to Kansas City, who is a likely spot if we don't take him.

Second Round Selection, Victor Abiamiri - Defensive End
I think this is a little high for Abiamiri, but I expect a run on defensive end to occur early on in the draft, so it's better to be safe than sorry. I'm trying not to rely on the Broncos talking to him in Mobile, but I feel that this kid is a legitimate target for the Broncos at the end of round two. I think he has the athleticism to succeed in Bates scheme and provides a lot of upside. Two picks in a row are spent on the defensive line, and the Bronco fan suicide meter goes down big time.

Third Round Selection, Doug Free - Offensive Tackle
This too may be a little high for Free, but I see a lot of teams with needs at tackle and the big time names are all there, so I too see a run at this position. I think Denver wants a guy who can fit their ZBS, who has that killer instinct and mobility - but also is larger than usual and I think Free provides this. I know this seems to be a common pick in a lot of my drafts, but I'm high on him and I think he's a legit option here for the Broncos at #70.

Third Round Selection, Josh Gattis - Defensive Back
This pick is for you Med! I juggled around the possibility of drafting earlier, but I feel that we might need to have a safety who is solid in run support and has the ability to cover. I think Gattis is one of these guys. Extremely underrated, a hard worker and a team leader. At the very least, he'll be an impact special teams player this year, but I think he could even start for us.

Sixth Round Selection, Ryne Robinson - Wide Receiver
It's a part offense pick, part special teams pick. I like Robinson's value as a slot receiver, and his ability to return. This isn't the Scott O'Brien pick of this draft, but I think it's solid value at a position on the team I think we could use upgrading (receiver) and upgrading the return game goes without saying. I think with a deep class of receivers, guys like Robinson from smaller schools will end up slipping down boards. The better for us, right?

Sixth Round Selection, Garrett Wolfe - Running Back
Wolfe has the potential to go a lot earlier than this, but I think not getting to participate in the Senior Bowl (Although overrated) hurt him a bit. I don't think he'll be anything other than a third-down back in the NFL, but he poses a lot of value as a returner. I didn't even consider him teaming up with Free, but I guess that happens here. This is the special teams pick, Wolfe to the Broncos with their late sixth-rounder. Solid value in my opinion.

Seventh Round Selection, Courtney Brown - Defensive Back
Courtney Brown is an interesting prospect. I got to see him up close and person here when NDSU played and I thought he displayed good athleticism and looked pretty good in coverage. I like how physical he is, and you have to love his combination of size and speed. He'd be a good special teamer too, and I think focusing on that aspect of our game would be important on Day 2.
ALTERNATIVE SELECTIONS

If you're not a fan of Free, I like Ryan Harris' ability to fit in with the Broncos offensive line.

Definite sleeper pick, I think he'd be an interesting Day 2 selection.
