View Full Version : 22" Viewsonic LCD - oh yeah baby!
Just got this bad boy last night. The mane has never looked so big. Damn. 22" widescreen LCD monitor. I'm in love right now. It has 5ms, 1680x1050 with DVI and only cost $239.00

That's a great price. I paid quite a bit more for my 24" Dell 2407WFP

I surf on my 42 inch plasma.
Someone told me that Plasma's aren't good for surfing and are subject to burn-in when used as monitors. Ever had any problems with it?

It's a good monitor for showing movies and the color is very bright and clear.

I love LCDs. I might grab that viewsonic in a few mos. Pretty happy with my 19-incher right now. I'm hopeful that Madden 2008 will support widescreen resolutions. That'll force my hand.

No, I havent. Ive only had my plasma for about 5 months now, but ive left it on channels that have those persistent logos on the corner (which is the worst thing to happen to TV IMO) and dont get burn in. Conversely, the one rear projection I had the Science Channel logo burned into it within a month. I wouldnt leave the orangemane on the screen for 24 hours on it, but then I wouldnt do that on my LCD either. That's just asking for trouble.

I do the same thing with my 42" plasma as well, and I never get burn in. I get image retention once in awhile, but nothing too bad.

Madden 2007 PC does, I don't see why 2008 wouldn't.

I bet you are. Whats his name?
I have two LCDs at work. Two monitors are the shiznit. I do a lot of web work and having a pic on one monitor and the website on the other makes it so easy. Its so much more productive.

I agree, for doing work 2 4:3 monitors is better than one large widescreen monitor. I hate resizing windows.

I do stuff at home and it drives me nuts having to minimize and resize to move things around.

Really? It didn't when I hooked it up to my HDTV at 1920x1200. The option appeared but it just looked stretched to me. Got a screenshot?

I uninstalled it when I got my Xbox 360, but I know for a fact it will.
edit: actually, now that I remember, I had to do some hex edit crap to force it into widescreen. It will do 1600x1200 natively though and most panels will do a pretty good job of scaling.
edit2: this is what I did: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6214&highlight=madden

The picture doesn't show the true width. When I first saw this add, I thought it didn't look that wide. But a friend has the same one, went to see it and it was much wider in real life, so to speak.

Hey ... your's is bigger than mine.
Even my monitor loves porn.
It's a 19" widescreen originally.
While surfing porn, it becomes a 24" widescreen.
