This just moved on the newswire Wednesday afternoon ... and if you read between the lines here, it's obvious they're clearing the decks for Calvin Johnson:

Obviously they can't give full attention to mentoring two young wideouts at the same time, so Bookman had to go. They want Calvin Johnson, and they'll give up whatever it takes to trade up to get him. And this obviously means Trent is staying put in Kansas City .... so Daunte's rehab must be ahead of schedule ...
Read between the lines, people!

How does this imply anything about Culpepper and Green? If anything, it would suggest Culpepper is soon to be released (as is believed) so the Raiders would have a QB not named Walters.
And as the other fella' pointed at, you can't move much higher than 1st and since they own that spot, they definitely have enough to trade up to there.

Well, the real proof is that they waived Bookman outright. That's an ominous sign that something is in the works here.
