2. Terrell Davis
Position: Running back
Year drafted, round: 1995, 6th round, 196th pick
Team: Denver Broncos
College: Georgia

The reasons: When the Broncos won Super Bowl XXXII, the general impression was that John Elway had finally gotten the title he deserved after a sensational career. No argument there, but while owner Pat Bowlen was uttering “This one’s for John,” Davis was the one who won it for him. Davis ran for 157 yards and had three rushing touchdowns. While injuries cut his career short, Davis ran for 7,607 yards in his career and scored 60 rushing touchdowns while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He had one of the greatest seasons of all time when he ran for 2,008 yards and 21 touchdowns in 1998.

He should be number 1 considering his position.

It's Griese's fault he isn't #1.

Well-deserved for TD, but what are Gore and Coles doing on that list?

The Broncos were at their best with Elway and TD. As great as Elway was, he couldn't do it without help in the running game and defense. The question really is, would TD have been a "great" running back without Elway and would Elway have won the superbowl without someone as talented as TD. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking either of them, but only stating the neither reached the pinacle without the other. I.E. see Dan Marino. Just the threat of what TD could do would give Elway those fractions of a second longer and at the same time, the threat of what Elway could do, held the defense in check for that fraction of a second longer to allow TD to do what he did.

It's the system that Shanahan uses, but even so, it requires above average players to make things work. When TD went down, Orlandis Gary was there to pick things up. Of course, he didn't have Elway behind center to scare the defense and still did well.

No argument. The Brady pick was amazing, and has netted 3 titles for the Patsies.
