At this time next week, the 1st day will be over and the server here **might** be back online.

Prediction time, not your "shocker" or "surprise" pick, but what do you expect Denver to do on Day 1?

Trade the pick
-the last thing I'm expecting is for Denver to draft at #21. If they move up, it'll include one other Day 1, so I don't put much stock in a move up to #10 speculation by one site since that would take 3 picks for it to happen. If they move down, there will be at least one Day 1 pick in '08 coming back.

Not draft a LB on Day 1 unless someone unexpectedly falls to #56
-still think the LB hole will be addressed somewhere besides the draft (most likely FA)

Not draft a S on Day 1 unless someone falls
-not a fan of what they have now, but they can survive with what they have with stronger play from the DL. S is a priority in next year's draft.

If they keep all 4 picks= DE, DT, OT, and WR
-not necessarily that order

Shanahan always shows his hand so why can't I read his palm? He keeps them in the pockets.

At this point I hope for the best and expect the worst. Denver likes to play some sort of combination of Go Fish and Texas Holdem.

I can just FEEL how anxious this board is to get a good draft. You can sense some anticipation of another run. Three good picks would be a good draft.

There isn't alot to talk about, and guessing what Denver is going to do you might as well read Tarot cards.

I think there might be some movement, but not like last year. I have Burgur Bill on it. Well, he Could be on it.

Think of somethiing completely wacked and you're right on target. We'll have a day of screaming bloody murder and calling for Shanny's head followed by legions of people rationalizing why this crazy move will bring us another Lombardi.

Predicting who they'll pick is about as likely as picking the lottery numbers, so I'll just say that I agree with the notion that they won't be picking at #21. They'll be moving out of that spot one way or the other.

It's really unpredictable...I still think that if we dont move from 21 it will likely be DE there. I just cant see them ignoring it any longer.

I am just pissed that I am forced to leave at 4 or 5 PM to go to my cousin's stupid engagement, I will try to stay there only about an hour so I can get back home. I'll have to time it right though, hopefully we would have just made our 2nd round pick so I can have a little window to get out and come back before 3A.

In all seriousness, you guys can't lose. Justin Harrell, Reggie Nelson, Jamaal Anderson...those guys all fill major needs for you and I won't be happy with any of them being a Bronco. I imagine you will have an opportunity to pick at least one.

Denver will make a draft day deal with Carolina. Jenkins for 3a.

Denver will trade up in round 1 to draft d-line ahead of the Rams who have similar d-line needs.

Miek Shanahan will have so many draft deals in the works, he won't remember which deal he actually made.

Denver misses it's turn in every round and signs a kicker from Albany State in FA.

Fans are angry, but Bowlen tells us this is the price we pay for great coaching.

If we go DE before the 3rd round(Even then, only for Moses), I'll go ballistic. DT is the problem here, folks.

Hey ohiobronco, that's a nice prediction, i really hope we draft Quincy Black and Walter Thomas. I think Black will be a sleeper. I really hope we could get Yamon Figurs as well, he ran the fastest 40 at the combine: 4.30.

The last thing we need is another posession receiver and to waste our 2nd on Gonzo would be a nightmare. Think about it. You've got Smith, Marshal and a slew of other possesion type of receivers on the team already. If they go receiver, which I hope they don't looking at our track record, it better be a pure speed guy.

I think we need to find a DE because you NEVER can get one cheap in FA. Even a middle of the pack DE costs big bucks. We need to draft a DE in 1st or 2nd. I would like Griffen in the later first if we trade down and then a few DE's and a LB and DT in later rounds, hoping to find a gem. The main thing is, our DL drafts need to be big pysical guys. No more Langs and Myers and skinny guys. Can we get some beef already?

Shanny trades up to get Jamal Anderson, acquires Jenkins and drafts a LB in later rounds. DE, DT and LB.

Here's the thing, I think Gonzo is a speed guy. I've heard many times throughout Columbus that Gonzo is capable of running low to mid 4.3 40's. Smith will most likely retire at the end of this year. I think Gonzo would be an upgrade over every other receiver on our team other than Walker. Think about it, he's fast, agile (Go To NFL.com) and incredibly smart. I think he will be an excellent pro.

I look at the players Bates had to work with in Miami and Moss has very similar measurables to Jason Taylor. They have similar size and I'm willing to bet that Moss has greater speed and agility. I do have questions about his character however. Sure if Anderson or Carriker fall to us, then okay, I don't mind selecting them. If we trade for Jenkins we have a wide body to put in there with Warren and that will allow our DE's to put added pressure on the QB.

Figurs is fast, but I don't know how agile he is. That is why I choose Robinson, he's fast and agile. Robinson has been very accomplished throughout his career as far as kick and punt returns are concerned. I also picked Wolfe to help with returns and to give us a weapon at the RB position.

NEXT year's draft:

We will need to draft a DT to replace whatever leftovers we pick up this year.

We will regret not picking up an impact WR even though I still maintain that is the right thing to stand on our current team.

We will have to take a long hard look at LB and will regret not going after Patrick Willis.

We will be surprised how good our OL is despite my insistence there is something missing at OT.

The trade works for me; some of your choices do not and I would alter accordingly:
@31 I could live with Moss, but prefer Harrell
@37 prefer Ben Grubbs, David Harris, Victor Abiamiri, Eric Weddle, Aarron Sears or Anthony Spencer -- at least one of them will be available. Weddle or Grubbs would be my choice.
@70 Kris Jenkins trade works for me
@86 Dan Bazuin
@127 Quincey Black
@176 Jacob Ford
@198 Walter Thomas
@233 Issaih Stanback

My cousin played with Quincy Black the last few years here at UNM. He says he is fast as hell and looks like he was built in a lab but there wasn't a single player on the team that could stand to be around him...not one. Biggest asshole he has ever known. We don't need that kind of player.

Shoot, I don't know. I guess they'll try to trade up in the first, but the price will be too steep. The best way to move up in the first will cost picks next year, and do they really want to do that?

Just standing pat isn't so bad.

I'd like to see us wait out the first 20 picks and see if anyone falls. Ideally I would like to be able to cherry pick Anderson or even Branch if they are there. I might not be ecstatic if we take Ginn, depending on who we pass on, but at the same time I probably won't throw anything valuable. If no one is there at 21 who we were specifically targeting I'm all for trading back to the early second and acquiring a few more picks and then taking whoever falls out of the first or David Harris. We could trade down, gain picks and still get a Moss or Johnson or even Harris.

Ultimately it's a crap shoot and I am talking out of me bum.

To quote Brick Tamblan, all draft predictions are just: "LOUD NOISES!!"

I agree on waiting to see what transpires on draft day --from what I see in this draft, I would trade all of our picks for as many @2's as we can get -- I like what should be available between 33 and 60 -- but, at the same time I cannot dispute a move upwards into the top 10.
Unless Anderson is there, I just cannot see us staying at 21.

Denver will pick at least 5 players. Half the board will hate the picks, half will love it.
