Free agent Myers visits Bengals
By Bill Williamson
Denver Post Staff Writer
The Broncos' only free agent might not be free much longer. Defensive tackle Michael Myers was in Cincinnati on Monday night visiting with the Bengals.
Although the Broncos have expressed some interest in bringing Myers back, he is likely to go elsewhere. He is not ideal for new assistant head coach in charge of defense Jim Bates' system, because Bates likes his defensive tackles very big.
Denver is expected to look at defensive tackles in the draft and could later explore veterans through free agency. Among the veterans who could interest Denver are Carolina's Kris Jenkins and Atlanta's Grady Jackson.
Myers is the Broncos' last of six unrestricted free agents who remains unsigned.
The Broncos already have re-signed their two restricted free agents. Only defensive end Patrick Chukwurah (Tampa Bay) and guard Cooper Carlisle (Oakland) have left Denver as free agents this offseason.
