With serious needs at LB, DT, DE, OT, and S I'd like to see the Broncos trade down and get more high round picks to fill these immediate needs.
Here's what I propose. Trade our first round pick for Detroit's 2nd (34th) and 3rd (66th). This is a reasonable trade based on value (800-820) and Detroit may want to trade up to get an extra impact player to improve their team. That would leave us picks 34, 56, 66, 70 and 86 on the first day.
With these picks I think we'll have the flexibility to fill our needs, here's a few ways I think things could go....
Scenario 1
34: David Harris MLB Michigan or Lawrence Timmons LB Fla St.
56: Quinn Pitcock DT Ohio St.
66: John Wendling S Wyoming
70: James Marten OL BC
86: Quinton Moses DE Georgia or Dan Bazuin DE E. Michigan
Scenario 2
34: Charles Johnson DE Georgia or Anthony Spencer DE Purdue
56: Tank Tyler DT NC State
66: Eric Weddle S Utah
70: Quincy Black LB NMST
86: Doug Free: OT N ILL
Scenario 3
34: Justin Harrell DT Tennessee
56: Tony Ugoh OT Arkansas
66: Lamarr Woodley DE Michigan
70: Josh Gattis S Wake Forest
86: Anthony Waters LB Clemson
I think all of these picks are reasonable as far as where these guys are slotted to go and by trading down we can better insure filling all the needs we have based on who's available at our picks.
