Bummer for you! Take a look to the south at the three stacks. Spent almost 3 years up there building those power houses back in the day.
If you have your fishing pole with you fish the Yampa right there in town (by the golf course). I've pulled some big Northerns out of there over the years.

Fishing that lake and up to Trappers (and all the creeks and lakes in between) was a ritual with us for years.

I know the area well , I go down that Rio Blanco road alot , rich patch there.....sometimes sneak up that road to go to Vernal

The original Sleepy Cat burned down in 1991 right before I left, they rebuilt after the fire and I understand it's very cool. Pulled in many trout from Trappers Lake, Lake Avery, and the White River as a youth.
