I love how he says that Jake Plummer would of been benched sooner except for his "Better than expected" start to the season. That's news to me and us...our defense was stuffing offenses. Plummer had started throwing rotten eggs all the way back to the NE playoff game and it continued till he eventually thrown away.

Who cares about Wilkinson? He would of been a one year stopgap and was probably blown up like the Goodyear blimp.

So we "troll" for draft picks? I doubt he used that term on any other of his 20 teams "analisis"...or should I say, Analcysts.

Finally, Patrick Ramsey "isn't the answer?" Jesus...He's not asked to be! Carr wants to battle his way back to a starting gig and most of us are pleased as punch we snagged him, if only for one year.

99 percent of us wanted Jake to get another shot for a full season. He played himself out of the job. This "inevitable" despite Jakes "great play" is so absurd as to have you spit up your Coors Light laughing.

I don't know if Elway stuck a stun rod up this clowns ass, but damn, I can't name anyone who hates Shanahan more. If he would just admit that we have taken Snyder behind the woodshed multiple times he might be able to get over it. If not, therapy is another option.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Denver Broncos shocked many in the football world -- and specifically starting quarterback Jake Plummer -- by trading up in round one of the 2006 draft to select quarterback Jay Cutler.

The handwriting instantly was on the wall, and only a better-than-expected start to the season delayed the inevitable benching of Plummer for Cutler.

A year later, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan has his quarterback of the present and future, along with a contract that runs through 2011. Now, Coach Kevlar can focus both on short-term and long-term needs as he trolls for new players in the 2007 draft. He should focus on the following positions.

1. Defensive tackle: The effort to get Dan Wilkinson, the No. 1 overall pick way back in 1994, blew up when he refused to report for a physical after the trade that sent him from Miami to Denver. The Broncos would love to get Louisville's Amobi Okoye, who was seven years old when Shanahan first became the coach of the team. But he'll be long gone by the time they use the 21st pick. An alternative would be Florida defensive tackle Marcus Thomas or Michigan's Alan Branch, who might slide.

2. Defensive end: The Broncos tried to get Patrick Kerney, but lost out when he signed with the Seahawks. Courtney Brown has been cut, making the need even greater. If Jamaal Anderson slides, the Broncos might pounce.

3. Running back: Tatum Bell was traded and Mike Bell couldn't keep the starting job. Travis Henry was added via free agency, but the Broncos would be wise to consider adding a youngster who can carry the load down the road.

4. Safety: At 36, John Lynch is nearing retirement, and his backups don't have much talent.

5. Quarterback: The Broncos need a competent backup for Jay Cutler. Patrick Ramsey isn't the answer.

This dude at PFT is like that about every team. He does seem to not like Shannahan but who cares. If we cry about sportwriters and bloggers then we start to sound like a bunch of whining Raider fans, moaning everyone hates us. I think most of what he says about our team needs is right on. We do need DT/DE/S. He has a very negative style to his writing that is probably turning you off. I don't blame you that is this guys style but I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

Even you should be able to see the difference in tone. Your mistaking crying for disgust because of bias.

It's kinda comical that he brushes over why Washington has three picks, only one decent and scraps in 6 and 7. Buy a vowel Florio.

Observe the kid gloves he treats a castrated Washington draft with...

---------------------------

Alas, Redskins fans. In response to several e-mails that we have received from the ranks of D.C. devotees, we've done some research. And we've learned that a team cannot select a new front office in the draft.

So with that specific option off of the table, let's consider what the 'Skins should do with their smattering of picks -- a first-rounder, a fifth-rounder, a sixth-rounder, and a seventh-rounder.

With the sixth overall pick in round one, the 'Skins would be wise to add a playmaking defensive end, like Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson.

But, surely, the Redskins are tempted to try to make a play for an offensive playmaker. There are rumors of a fixation on receiver Calvin Johnson and/or quarterback JaMarcus Russell, even though the team supposedly has all of the pass-catchers that it needs, along with a pass-thrower of the supposed present and future in Jason Campbell.

When it comes down to it, we simply believe that owner Dan Snyder can't resist the urge to make a big splash. His team wisely didn't go bonkos (for a change) in free agency, so the only remaining way to shake things up off of the field in early 2007 is to make a move to the upper reaches of round one.

The problem, however, is that the 'Skins don't have much to offer in order to get there. They signed running back Ladell Betts to a contract that pays him like the backup he chooses to be; if they were to opt to toss Betts in with an offer to the Browns, they could possibly get up to No. 3.

But our hunch is that the Redskins simply don't have enough to make a deal, and that they'll either use the No. 6 pick or trade down from it. And if the 'Skins use their pick, it will likely be either Adams or Anderson.

Another area of need is safety, where Troy Vincent has been released and Adam Archuleta has been traded. The only problem? With no picks in rounds two, three, or four, the chances of finding a much-needed, game-ready free safety on day two of the draft are slim. For now, new arrival Omar Stoutmire will have to be the guy across from Sean Taylor.

With Shawn Springs close to being out the door, the 'Skins also would like another cornerback. They've reunited with Fred Smoot, and remain interested in landing Dre' Bly. If they can't get Bly, they might want to use a pick on a cover man.

On offense, the 'Skins need a replacement for left guard Derrick Dockery, who left via free agency. They wanted to land Leonard Davis, and settled for re-signing Todd Wade.

The offensive line generally lacks depth, so look for the 'Skins to try to scalp one or more on day two of the draft.

The Redskins also would be wise to add a developmental quarterback, in the event that they conclude that Jason Campbell isn't the long-term answer at the position. (Our guess is that they already have.)

Lol at the positions we should focus on. RB and QB? WTF. QB is probably last on the list, that is just retarded to say its #5. And RB, its probably in the bottom half. Henry, who is what, 27-28, and Mike Bell, plus Cobbs and Sapp, I don't think so.
Some people, it amazes me they get paid to write crap like this.

Is that so asshole? I didn't know the front office was part of the draft. While it would be unwise to clean house right before the draft, I doesn't have to affect the scouting department. The statement is a lie or ignorant or some bad joke. I think the last.

Did you notice that the words "Snyder being sodomized" didn't come out of his piehole? I check in just to see his rumor mill and he's not completely incompetent, altho he's more full of crap that Rush Limbaugh.

The only way we take a RB is if Pittman is there at 3 or Bell is there at 4.

I think we will take a running back though. QB I don't think so however. And you are right he does hate denver for some reason but don't let it get to you. I'm not saying you aren't right about it really. Just that Florio is a jerk to most fans and most teams. I think he is mostly and east coast guy though and we all know what that means.

It would be funny to have two Bells again. If we had kept Tater, we could of played songs on their helmets.

It would be nice to acquire a multi-dimensional back who can catch the ball out of the backfield. I mean, it would be a total luxury pick, but trading down and grabbing a Brian Leonard @ 35 would not be the worst thing that ever happened. I agree, its not a priority and that need could be filled later, but I always like to take the BAA when possible. What was Pat Kirwan saying about getting a guy who creates matchup problems? Brian Leonard in the open field is a matchup problem for a lot of people.

Just remember this. You are getting all heated by a attorney (ambulance chaser) wanna-be sports writer.

A guy that was such a Steeler homer/Mark that he was kick out of the Steelers training facility. Mainly because he was asking to many homer questions and creeped a few players out. ie Joey Porter.

I should castrate you for just suggesting that. Leonard is not worth an early second, or a second at all IMO.

Henry has done just fine catching the ball out of the backfield.

When did I say he hurt my feelings? There was a comment that he has that venom with all teams and I summarily dismissed it. I just graze over it for the rumor mill and I opened his "analyisis" of the Broncos, and it just was a continuation of his usual Shanahan bashing.

I have every right to ask why your coming here and commenting on this thread then don't I. And for what again? The point was it's so blatantly obvious he hates Denver and especially Shanahan for whatever reason. I'm perfectly able to ignore him, or you for that matter.

My theory is that Denver has really tight rules in house and it makes it hard for them to get any scoops out of Denver. There is more to the story than we know.
