View Full Version : When do tickets go on sale?

Being in Los Angeles, the only game I can probably attend this year is the San Diego game on Dec 24...possibly the Raider game but I'd have to travel pretty far (350+ miles)...

How much do tickets usually run if you get them "early"?

Last year they went on sale in late July and you could get in the stadium for under $50 if you grab em off ticketmaster. That was for the St Louis game, at least.

Each team's "for sale" dates are different, but most are mid July to early August. If you are going to a Broncos away game as you mention, you should check with those team's sites. Broncos home games sell out within minutes...

That's pretty cheap...I'm guessing those are far seats (although those are sometimes very good)...

So the earlier you get them, the cheaper they'll be does apply? I'm looking for good seats where I can see the field...

yeah i'm sure they do...i wouldn't think any different with Charger games neither.

It depends. There are two legitimate ways to get tix for face value. Option one is being lucky enough to get through to ticketmaster the day they originally go on sale in July or August. Option two is to log on to ticketmaster the Friday before the game and hope to get in on the 100-200 tickets generally made available from the away team (each away team is allocated a few hundred tix to each game, but they rarely if ever use them all. When they "return" them to the home team, they are then re-sold by ticketmaster).

If you strike out using the methods above, a broker (at any point from now to day before game) or scalper outside the stadium the day of the game are obviously more expensive options....and buying earlier from them isn't generally going to be any cheaper than buying closer to game day.

Thanks...question, how do they "return" the tickets to the home team in this manner? Aren't they being sold by ticketmaster to begin with? So once the few hundred tickets are offered on the Friday, those are going to be on sale until sold out? I don't get the "return" process you're explaining...

Really depends on the team

When I went to a game at SD, I was fortunate to get tickets for face value via ticketmaster. However, they were field level so not really 'cheap' to begin with

When I went to a game in Oakland, the Broncos game sold out within minutes and I had to go thru a broker. Paid $150 each (lower level 50 yard line!) and that was 7 years ago...probably 2x that much now through a broker.

If you plan to travel to see your team, I suggest you get the best seats possible. I wouldnt want to spend all the money in travel and lodging only to sit in the nosebleeds. (exception: championship games or superbowl)

Can someone break down the price ranges for each of the sections? (i am going to try the ticketmaster approach when they go on sale, and i will need to strike quickly). They dont provide the prices on the website.

(Using simple math with round numbers, so bear with me)

Broncos have 76,000 tickets to sell. (1) They sell approx. 73,000 to season ticket holders and club level/box owners, etc. (2) They "sell" 1,000 or so to the opposing team (not sure of the exact process here, but it is a direct relationship not involving ticketmaster or any broker service). (3) They sell 2,000 per game to the public though the use of ticketmaster on a designated day in either July or August.

Whatever portion the visiting team doesn't use, they sell back to the home team the Thursday or Friday before the game. The home team then releases the tickets to ticketmaster and tells them to sell them on behalf of the team. As with the "July/Aug batch", these tix are gone in minutes....

Prices haven't been announced yet and won't be for awhile, but you can probably expect around $100-$125 face value for lower level sideline seats (good luck getting these for face value) to around $50 for the cheapest endzone nosebleeds.

What would you guess the 300's and 200's (according to the picture) designated seats would cost? thanks

300s are club level seats....they go for over $300 a pop.

200 seats will probably run around $75 each.

Broncos Ticket Exchange:

The Broncos Ticket Exchange is a new service that lets you purchase reserved seat tickets at face value directly from Denver Broncos Season Ticket Holders. Broncos Ticket Exchange will be available after tickets go on sale this summer.

www.denverboncos.com (Left hand side of home page under "Tickets")
-----

This was in effect last year it allows ppl to buy tix without having to physically exchange the tickets. Just buy the tix online and print them out

I believe it is in partnership with TicketMaster so there might be a fee but maybe the Broncos cover the fee

Either way another alternative for game tickets

Also, keep an eye out on the tailgate forum. There will be a thread there for the 2007 tickets that members of the mane have for sale or for those that have ticket requests.

I checked this thing a handful of times last year and did not see one ticket on sale there. Maybe it will pick up some momentum this season.

I was going to put some of mine on there last season, but I'll be damned if I pay a fee to make mine available a face value. The only good thing about the process is that you can't loose you season tickets rights if the person who sits in your seats acts like an ass and gets thrown out of the game.
