Hey, where is a good hotel to stay at?
Is the Red Lion convenent, is there another hotel you guys recommend?
Where is the hotel that most out of town bronco fans stay at?

Sassy
09-12-2007, 12:29 AM
There are two red Lions...and I think everyone is pretty much scattered...
The Red Lion on Bryant is right next to Invesco...(well, across the parking lot)
If you can stand the heat! LOL!

We've only stayed at the Red Lion and dang...can never remember...The .... Blue, Hogan help me out here? LOL!
Anyway, the Red Lion, Like I said, is great location-wise...but their central air/heating system is screwy...woke us up at 3:30 am game day with it about 100 degrees in the room...we never did get back to sleep.

I'm renting a car, so ill have my own wheels.

When im checked in and settled at the hotel, ill break off a phone call to someone.

The Warwick! Which, I thought was nice...was within walking distance of the 16th St. Mall but the restaurant was a little more upscale and pricey. We much prefer the "round" bar at the top of the Red Lion...pretty good food, too!

Yep... it was the Warwick...nice enough hotel, but a tad expensive. We had a lot of fun that weekend, though.... :D

We're driving to Denver, so we'll have wheels, too.... but the thing is, none of us really wants to stay sober. :P :alky: We'll probably be calling a taxi a time or two.

We did!
As for the price..well, a lot of them are getting that way...the Red Lion isn't exactly cheap...just cheaper! But it is when you figure in the price of a cab or renting a car...it's all about location!

If you need transportation right before the game (if you happen to miss tailgating), take one of the RTD buses which have 28 locations throughout the city. It is $8.00 per person round trip and the buses park on the South Side of Invesco. They usually depart from each location around 11:45am until 1:15pm.

just park in the lot next to meck77 as it is closer and cheaper. Take Colfax
from downtown (you know, where you meet your ladies of the evening) and hit federal and turn right. Parking at the homes on 13th street is around $20 .
Sassy or STG, some of us might need one of those parking passes if avialable.

The Warwick was a semi-posh hotel..really nice and a little on the expensive side. The hotel's bar & restaurant, like Sass said, is a bit too dress casual for my liking and the courtesy car will not take you to Mile High (even though it's within it's 5 mile radius). Duffy's is real close to it though and you can eat on the cheap there everyday and save some serious food money (large portions, good food, cheap prices).

The Red Lion's Skybox bar has a pretty cool view of the city/Stadium and the food is above average for it being Pub fare. They'd better have fixed that thermostat problem though or we'll be staying somewhere else next year.

He's talking about our parking passes at the Red Lion. Because we are staying there, we automatically are permitted to have one parking pass each. But, since neither of us has a vehicle, we usually give it to someone else.

Can one of you expeerts (or two of you) Give a rundown on the parking lots that are near the location we are tailgating at (or Lot C) and the costs to park in them?

I have never had to use these lots, so I really am not up to speed on the parking situation!

I think 20 in Lot M that is right next to Lot MH where Meck is. Personally I park where my school parking is where it is a 1.75 for all day, but its quite a trek to the stadium and ESPECIALLY to Lot MH.

STG if you are driving you can park in my lot. It's the least I can do for you organizing all this stuff. Cost= 1 big hug.

I wish I could offer parking to everyone but I don't want to jam the whole place up with cars. People can park right behind the bus for 20bucks in lot M. If you get there early you can park within 15 feet on the other side of the fence.

I didn't know anything about a "parking pass"...?
We had my parents park their car there last year, but it wasn't for the game...
If that's the case, I already told my parents that they could have our spot since they will be driving from Ft. Colllins.

Yeah, it's not really a 'pass' per se, but you are allowed one vehicle if you are staying there. I'll just give them the info of whatever vehicle is going to be using the spot. I think we were given a tag or something to display in the vehicle. I think the Blue's parked there last year in 'my' spot, if I remember correctly.

Sassy

Gotcha! I didn't recall having a "pass" LOL!...must have just been for game day...they didn't give us anything for the other time they parked there. However, I planned on giving them the info on my parent's vehicle since I told mom and dad they could park there! LOL!

FYI...guys, as Sassy has asked, this is mostly for those that are locals and have an easier time of dropping by the store to pick up something. So, if you donated, then you've 'stopped at the store'. ;D I just had some asking questions...and wanted to clarify!

Now, if I can put down my wish list....I wish for .....jello shots! ;) hahaha

And, I'll be bringing my IPOD, too.

Everyone should be bringing their own beer or booze, so that's just a given.

Thanks Sassy for taking care of this side of things!! HUGE help! ^5

I am probably getting a car if needed so I would love that pass. If I get a car, I will be picking up those on the outskirt. I plan on 10am arrival (i need my sleep from the night before). Meck, is there a carpool spot with 6 in a Chevy sprint, clown style? IDEA for everyone going. Many here have AKA and we have no idea what your real name is. Lynch, if you get there by 8am, then I didnt do my job of getting you nice and toasty from Sat. night. Best thing is make sure you eat a well balanced meal like the one Sassy recommended and get there with a full stomach ready to consume BBQ and alcohol. My goal is not to bring Orange Juice to the tailgate this year. O4L thought I was part of his LDS crowd from my lack of consuming the evil liquid. Only cause the boys from St. Louis, Florida and Scotland filled me up with the spirits to the helt. Basically packed for the weekend. Gonna be one hell of a weekend.

We will be walking over from the Red Lion...and trust me, we won't be there at 8! Steak, Eggs & Coffee come first!

Hey Sassy, you and Hogan should stop by me and Lot R before you go over to Meck's since it is basically on the way. Just a quick detour under the highway. We'll be there around 9AM.

You're at the Red Lion right next to Invesco right? You're kidding about a shuttle aren't you? It's like an 8 min walk to Meck's from there and about a 3 min walk to mine from there...

Ok - I'm making reservations at the Rodizio Grill (http://www.rodiziogrill.com/) for 8 people on Saturday night. I'm shooting for 7:30 but it might be a little before or after that based on availability.

Right now Broncocalijohn and Lynch are in. Who else will be joining us? We'll be doing dinner and then I think the Sports Column afterwards. Should be tons of fun... :)

Only problem, my ducks are playing while we are tailgating. I gotta keep up on that game!

If the Ducks game is being carried locally here in the Denver area, we'll be able to get it in Boulder at the tailgate. We have two different TV situations for Sat.

I heard his Lingo in Japanese caught himself a very nice catch so I will lean that way and say a few with pon pons coming by? Good to hear Security One will be at the home opener. Havent heard much from Bobby much here. Got a nice, tiny economy car so if anyone is on the outskirts, I can pick up a few. Lynch, I will try for 9 30 arrival at the Lot. Anyone at the Red Lion Invesco have a room but not needing their parking spot? Let me know as I would love to park there. I can probably fit 2 people more if Lynch and his GF need a ride. BTW: I am at Red Lion off of Quebec. 2 more days and i cant wait.

Maybe buy tomorrow for a few more people and have the donation cup out to cover the extras. It is worth paying a $1 or $2 at the lot to see some stripper pole action. Just a reminder....

It seems we have MANY last minute's "I'm coming" individuals.

If you plan on coming to the tailgate, please shoot me a pm of confirmation and the number of people that will be coming with you! We are trying to make sure we have enough food for everyone. If you are bringing something, please let Sassy know so we don't go out and purchase it. If you do not want to bring something but would rather contribute to the cause, we've taken up a collection via paypal...suggested donation is $5 per person.

If you are 'just stopping by to say hi'...no worries, just let me know that too!

Also, reminder is to bring your own beer/alcohol if you are attending. We should have some soda's and water there and we will have plenty of cooler space!

Questions on location/time/etc. should be directed to me via pm's!

Woohoo...can't wait!!

This weekend is not made for diets. I will be bringing my work out clothes for 30 minutes of treadmill (calorie burnie) action. I will hopefully be under 190 before leaving to Denver. After the Brazilian food fest and beer guzzling, I expect to be no less than 193 when I get home. I expect to cheat and made that plan when I started this. Well, Sandy Bretzlauf finally answered our question regarding the "memorial/tribute" for Darrent and Damien. She said that "the Bronco are planning a permanent "memorial/tribute" for them, but she did not know when it would be done, where it would be located, and/or what it would entail".
As far as this weekend is concerned, she said: fans could "do something in their own parking area".

No doubt about the cobwebs. We set up for the Cleveland game, pulled out the TV, cranked up the generator and heard a sputtering which didn't sound normal. I opened the Cubby Door and was greeted by a stream of oil. Apparantly the oil filter had been rubbing against the door and had a pinhole in the center. No Power/ electricity that day.

And my flight leaves tomorrow at 5:40am, will be getting into Denver at 6:20am. Will take a nap for a little bit, til probably 9 or so, then wait til my brother comes in at 1ish. Then shop for a suit for me, go downtown and pick up Rockies tickets, go to the game, chill then, then head on back home, stopping by someplace so I can make a big sign for Champ Bailey. Make that, then try to get some sleep, wake up at 10am, get ready and all, and me and my bro will be leaving at 11am. Get to the stadium about 11:30am, probably will be a decent walk over to the tailgate from where we park, but where we park is free, so yeah. Gonna be fun though! Can't wait!

Can't wait!

I'm actually still undecided on which jersey to sport....the forcasted high has gone from 88 degrees down to 83 now. Not sure if wearing the orange would be bearable in that heat or not. I may chance it.....in any event, it'll be cooler than sporting the blue or those poor fools in Raider black.

Dang...I hijacked the thread! :wiggle:

Saying "I love you" has kinda lost some meaning for me. I say that to so many people. To me, its "I care about you and would mourn your passing".
In regards to talking to someone of the opposite sex in regards to love, at first, I love you means you are awesome, you are unbelievable.
I am in love with my fiancee, I do everything possible for that woman. Going out of my way to make her happy. When seperated, we can't sleep, and I seriously mean this. We talk for awhile until we feel okay, then try to sleep, but sleeping alone = a lot less sleep. Thats what my definition of love is, that you love someone so much that you will do anything for that said person and that when seperated, it really hurts you emotionally.
