Post here.
1 Sun. Sept. 9 at Buffalo Ralph Wilson Stadium 1 p.m. EDT CBS
Well... I would have rather gone somewhere else but its good to get one of these emotional EAST COAST game out of the way early. Plus it will be nice not having to go to Buffalo in December.
2 Sun. Sept. 16 OAKLAND INVESCO Field at Mile High 2:15 p.m. MDT CBS
Get a crack at Oakland nice and early.
3 Sun. Sept. 23 JACKSONVILLE INVESCO Field at Mile High 2:05 p.m. EDT CBS
Could have playoff implications here. We should be 3-0 by this point in the season.
4 Sun. Sept. 30 at Indianapolis RCA Dome 4:15 p.m. EDT CBS
The road starts getting rocky. Peyton vs. Cutler, round 1. Have to consider this a loss as of right now but Travis Henry, Bill Bates and Jay Cutler could have a huge impact on this outcome. 3-1
5 Sun. Oct. 7 SAN DIEGO INVESCO Field at Mile High 2:15 p.m. MDT CBS
New coaching staff, on the road against Denver where SD usually never plays well. I'll give us the heads up. 4-1
6 BYE (I would rather not have a bye here, but after SD and Indy... might not be bad.)
7 Sun. Oct. 21 PITTSBURGH INVESCO Field at Mile High 6:15 p.m. MDT NBC
Another tough game against an AFC Power. The team will be down a little bit with the loss of both of its leaders from the Super Bowl Championship team two years ago. 5-1
8 Mon. Oct. 29 GREEN BAY INVESCO Field at Mile High 6:30 p.m. MST ESPN
One last time to watch Favre. Bailey and Bly should give him fits. 6-1
9 Sun. Nov. 4 at Detroit Ford Field 1 p.m. EST CBS
Bly's return. 7-1
10 Sun. Nov. 11 at Kansas City Arrowhead Stadium 12 p.m. CST CBS
A little earlier this year but its still KC. 7-2
11 Mon. Nov. 19 TENNESSEE INVESCO Field at Mile High 6:30 p.m. MST ESPN
Travis Henry's revenge. Vince Young is an x-factor similar to Vick a couple years ago on Halloween... doesn't have the same weapons around him though. 8-2
12 Sun. Nov. 25 at Chicago Soldier Field 12 p.m. CST CBS ^
This will be a huge game. I'll give it to the Bears because we will be on the road but I think we match up very well against the Bears across the board. 8-3
13 Sun. Dec. 2 at Oakland McAfee Coliseum 1:05 p.m. PST CBS ^
Round 2 with Oakland. They are going to be bad again this year. 9-3
14 Sun. Dec. 9 KANSAS CITY INVESCO Field at Mile High 2:15 p.m. MST CBS ^
This is the first time we have played them second in the season since the 2004 Clinton Portis game when he went crazy for 5 TD's. 10-3
15 Thu. Dec. 13 at Houston Reliant Stadium 7:15 p.m. MST NFLN
It will be a spirited game but Houston still doesn't have enough talent. 11-3
16 Mon. Dec. 24 at San Diego Qualcomm Stadium 5 p.m. PST ESPN
Will this team break by this point like they did two seasons ago when Denver finished the season beating them in SD? I don't think so. I'll give them this game. 11-4
17 Sun. Dec. 30 MINNESOTA INVESCO Field at Mile High 2:15 p.m. MST FOX ^
Tough to say what the meaning of this game will be. ON paper though, Denver should slice this team up. 12-4.

I don't mind this schedule. Looking at the flip side, only 1 hard road game (@Indy) in the first 8 games. By the 2nd half, Oakland, Houston, and the Vikings will be out of it, so those should all be easy.
Best birthday present I could ask for is a W @ SD on xmas eve.

Do we really need five threads on the schedule ??
The schedule isn't bad IMO but 6 of 9 on the road to end the season is just stupid. The NFL always pulls this zaney crap with our schedule.

BPC,
I agree. I think 12-4 is very realistic. If we come out of this schedule 11-5 or better, it will be a good season (considering it will be Cutler's first full season).
My buddy (a Packer fan) and I will be flying in from FL to attend the Green Bay game on Monday night. It should be amazing!!
Go Broncos!!

It looks like Broncos are going to be plastered all over prime time baby!!!! It's harder to play those games but for Denver I think they need to start going off more when nation watches. They seem to fall flat sometimes which leads IMO to not being ready for big time games. I think all these tough games vs teams like Indy/Chi who won superbowl and NFC are great. To be the best you have to beat the best. Let's get it on baby!!!!!!!!!!

It's having to prep for a tailgater a day before, spending the whole day and evening at the stadium and then dealing with the "mess" after the game which makes it so difficult.
BTW: Snaps is not consumed at "my pad". Scotch and maybe some hot buttered rum on the cold days!;D

Way too early to tell who will be out of it (except for Oakland of course). Every year there's a surprise team that figures out how to win and makes the playoffs. New Orleans and the Jets last year for example.
Christmas eve in San Diego is doable :)
Looks like we will have a pretty small group this year.

Funny statement however i understand what you are saying. Early in the Shanahan years we were known a team that jumped out the gates, nobody wanted us on opening weekend even with Griese at the helm. It only changed when Mistake Jake would play poorly out the gate because he couldn't keep his emotions in check throwing picks all over the place.
I find it highly improbable that we lose week 1 against Buffalo even on the road. They have lost so much in terms of offense and defense this offseason, we should be able to take it to them by running the football effectively and exposing their pass defense.

We better take care of business at home early in the season or we'll be in serious trouble this year. At least there's a chance I might be able to make the KC game in Denver. The past two years have fallen on my birthday weekend and I had to sit out.

Well, seeing as how i live in San Diego i have NO excuse not to be there. I'll go home on Christmas day if i have to, but i'll be at that game. Also, will definitly be at the Green Bay game with my Favre-loving girlfriend. Add in at least one playoff game and it's a pretty good year.
Interesting setup and the more I look at it, the more I like it... a key area in our schedule is in December against Houston on a Thursday night. Our next game after that could be for the division at San Diego on Monday night. There is a 11 day mini-bye to get healthy and prepare for a game that could decide our playoff fate. I like that.
Houston will be a tough team as they have many holes but Kubiak is there and he knows us. The good thing it, its going to be a little different with Cutler who he has no experience with. We'll have to grit out a win there and then ice SD the next Monday night.

I just saw some guy on a message board bragging about how his Champion Colts got 7 nationally televised games on their schedule, 5 in primetime. Upon looking at his source, it seems that one of their non-primetime Nat'l tv games is against the Mighty Broncos, so we have at least 1 non-pt nat'l tv game. Anyone know if there are more?
It really doesn't matter to me (particularly since I'm moving back to Denver next week and will be in the local market), I guess, but I enjoyed telling him that his team isn't that special. We get that kind of thing every year. It's called being a marquee NFL team.
Anybody looking at other teams schedules?
San Diego?
Sep 9 Chicago 4:15pm - Tough first game against defending NFC champions. I'll give SD the nod at home. 1-0
Sep 16 @New England 8:15pm - Rematch of the AFC divisional championship game... should be a good game. I think New England is much improved over last season while SD has had some turmoil. 1-1
Sep 23 @Green Bay 1:00pm - Think the NFL was taking it easy on SD by scheduling two cold weather teams so early in the season? Me too! 2-1
Sep 30 Kansas City 4:15pm - 1st chance at the Chiefs. 3-1
Oct 7 @Denver 4:15pm - Tough opening against Denver in Denver. They usually always struggle except when we let our DL cover LT. 3-2
Oct 14 Oakland 4:15pm - Three AFC West games in a row. 4-2
Week 7 BYE -
Oct 28 Houston 4:05pm - Not enough defense with Houston. 5-2
Nov 4 @Minnesota 1:00pm - Surprisingly tough matchup in midseason against one of the NFL's best run defenses. 6-2
Nov 11 Indianapolis 8:15pm - Tough matchup for both teams. I'm going to choose LT against this defense every time especially in SD. 7-2
Nov 18 @Jacksonville 1:00pm - Another great run defense. Jax plays great against good teams, bad against bad teams. 7-3
Nov 25 Baltimore 4:15pm - A very tough rematch against a retooled Baltimore team. I like the Ravens in this one. 7-4
Dec 2 @Kansas City 1:00pm - KC is just a very good home team, especially in the cold of winter. 7-5
Dec 9 @Tennessee 1:00pm - Watch out for Vince Young. 8-5
Dec 16 Detroit 4:15pm - NOT enough Lions on defense. 9-5
Dec 24 Denver 8:00pm - I'll give SD the nod over us. 10-5
Dec 30 @Oakland 4:15pm - Too little too late. I have us at 12-4... SD will be 11-5 after beating down Oakland in Oakland.
Sep 9 @Houston 1:00pm - Dangerous game for KC right off the bat. 1-0
Sep 16 @Chicago 4:15pm - Chicago is just a better team. 1-1
Sep 23 Minnesota 1:00pm - Best run defense in the league versus one of the best rush offenses. 2-1
Sep 30 @San Diego 4:15pm - SD too much. 2-2
Oct 7 Jacksonville 1:00pm - Another team that has a defense to give KC fits. I think Jacksonville will come in ready to play after losing late to KC last season which cost them a potential playoff birth. 2-3
Oct 14 Cincinnati 1:00pm - Cincinatti walked all over this team last year. 2-4
Oct 21 @Oakland 4:05pm - Oakland is bad but if things go right they could play well against KC. 3-4
Week 8 BYE
Nov 4 Green Bay 1:00pm - Green Bay is susceptable to rush offenses. 4-4
Nov 11 Denver 1:00pm - They own us in KC and until Cutler changes it... 5-4
Nov 18 @Indianapolis 1:00pm - Just like the playoff game... 5-5
Nov 25 Oakland 1:00pm - Oakland gets a win in the division. 5-6
Dec 2 San Diego 1:00pm - 6-6
Dec 9 @Denver 4:15pm - Bad time for a trip to Denver late in the season. Good bye playoffs! 6-7
Dec 16 Tennessee 1:00pm - Beware of Vince! He will steal some games! Unfortunately for Tennessee, they play all three AFC West teams which have very good running games. 7-7
Dec 23 @Detroit 1:00pm Detroit could steal this one late. 8-7
Dec 30 @N.Y. Jets 8:15pm If the playoffs are on the line, I like Thomas Jones. 8-8

One thing I like is we face Indy early we can get a gauge how much we improved or not before midway point of the season.

Man, I was hoping I might be able to go to the Houston game but its impossible now. During Finals Week at school and Thursday game, tough to go there.
I don't like the ending half of our shcedule, but look at the first half. heck, we have 3 home games in a row!

Could be the perfect start for the young gun Cutler.

Like getting Buffalo in September, like getting @San Diego with 10 days rest. The December road games are warm climates, can't whine about that. Just wish we got the Indy game like, end of the year, so it would be worthless and they would sit Peyton, but oh well. Be one of those measuring stick games.
I know we got @KC as the first of the 2, but its still bs that we have to play em in November. I know those assholes are gonna flex the KC game here too. Be like Seattle, where its 45 all day and then the gameday temp is 12 degrees. Bastards. Oh well, lets go 12-4.

dam nfl network again against houston on thursday, and back to back games on primetime yah, of course its always san diego at denver first then denver at san diego towards the end of the year, don't really like all the homes games in the beginning of the year then all the road games at the end, don't want to start out fast and fall flat at the end again, i guess after all the sighings denver made this offseason the NFL decide to do 5 primetime games, i would somehow like to go to the game in San Diego on christmas eve

Six of our games were primetime last year and more than half were nationally televised. Our games were the highest rated of any of the teams in the regular season and a big part of that is that virtually every one of our games went down to the wire and were just good, exciting games:
The Ravens in the cold rain, the snow game against the Bengals, The Chargers comeback against us, the last second loss against the Seahawks, the overtime win over the Chiefs, the big plays of the Steelers game, the last second loss against the Colts, the comeback against the Raiders, you get the point. Virtually every game was close and went down to the wire. We lost and won both. It's not good for Bronco fans, but it was good for TV.
When you consider the offseason acquisitions, we are also looked at as a sexy team with big plays from big players that us usually good. That's why the networks like us.
Contrast this against other teams like the Cardinals and there are few surprises.
Even more interesting is seeing how the networks treated a loser team like the Chiefs, who can't get a primtime game despite making the playoffs. This is because not only are they total failures, but they aren't a team people like or are easy to root for. By and large most fans of football around the nation have disdain for the Chiefs. They never do anything good are looked at as an old team on the decline. With Huard at QB, it's no surprise the networks know to stay away from their garbage team. Hilarious!

Looks like 10-6 is doable. That stinks to go the 2 final months without 2 home games in a row. Ya know, that sched is pretty crappy.

Not really. We get a cold weather team in September, two hot weather teams in December and finish at home. It's not bad. There are no easy schedules - except for the Colts 2005 schedule. That was a joke.

It's pretty good in terms of who and when, but that final 2 months with so much travel during the Holiday season can present some problems.
For a first-place schedule it isn't so bad in terms of who, when, where. Of the six non-Div AFC games, three are at home and are JAX, Pitt, Titans. Those on paper are 3 of the potential AFC playoff teams, so that's good to have them at home.

I like this schedule too, we came out ahead on this one. Plus, we will be road and battle tested in the 2nd half of the season which IMO is better for the playoffs.
I say 12-4
What's up with the 2 on the road 1 at home, 2 on the road 1 at home thing there at the end? ???

The schedule isn't bad IMO but 6 of 9 on the road to end the season is just stupid. The NFL always pulls this zaney crap with our schedule.
It's not a horrible schedule. Denver doesn't have 3 road games in a row that is very important. History says teams with three road games in a row often go 1-2 in those games. Denver can jump out to a lead and make everyone else play catchup. I like that. Does Denver have the horses to stay in front. I haven't seen the Chargers schedule yet. Looks like it's going to be a two team race in the AFC West. I think Denver gets a win in KC this year!!

The road-heavy back end shouldnt be easy, but we have alot of cupcakes on that schedule.
Things never go as planned though. This is not a rebuilding year, it is more of a transitional year. It's hard to tell how things are going to go. There will be new starters and players in new roles all over the place. Cutler, Henry, Scheffler, Graham, Walker, Marshall, a new starting RT, a new starting Guard, a new DT, a new DE or two, possibly a new MLB and LB, a new starting CB in place of one who was tragically killed, and a new defensive coordinator and staff.
This year is going to be alot different.
Will it be better? That's hard to say.

Looks like my trips are to GB & TEN - tough to get two Monday Night games, but my father and sister are Packers - and we went to Lambeau in 2002 so this is our trip. My other friend is a Titans fan - good timing for prime time baby.

Read KC Star Bob Gretz Schedule reaction. Chiefs are crying big time over this schedule. One TV game (week 17) play first 2 on the road. 3 of last 4 on the road. Two home games are against tough teams coming off the bye week. I think they have officially thrown in the towel on April 11th. Also no home games on National TV. Last years Thanksgiving game didn't count since it was on the NFL channel. Wondering why no one gets to see the Arrowhead experience. Could it be all the mullets in the stands ??

You are right about transitional year. However, I fell that we will do fine because Shanny should be able to do what he likes on Offense and Bates will have the defense more aggressive to a degree.
I expect this season to be more exciting as a Broncos fan; maybe or maybe not a superbowl but definitely more exciting.
