CBS fires Don Imus from radio show
NEW YORK - CBS fired Don Imus from his radio show Thursday, the finale to a stunning fall for one of the nation's most prominent broadcasters.
Imus initially was suspended for two weeks for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on the air last week, but outrage continued to grow and advertisers bolted from his programs.
"There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society," CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said in announcing the decision. "That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision."

Will the Wall Street Journal do? Or is that too subversive a source?
that will work, and the source works for the most part. Interesting...dman
*The embellishment/canonizing of the "rapper" lifestyle, I believe anyway is part of the draw to this type of music. Plenty of guns, dope and HO's, if you know what I mean. Not advertised is the downside of such a lifestyle. Very sad, very sad indeed. In any case, thanks for the numbers, it is what it is. All one can do is ensure those within one's reach is informed on the "true" nature of this sort of lifestyle, and the disparaging manner in which some of it's music is presented let alone, the nasty and distasteful lyrics of which one should find offensive in today's society. Again, it is what it is..dman

When it comes to music white kids will always listen to what is hip. It happened in Jazz era, happened back when whites flocked to hear guys like Ray Charles. White parents hated it as much then as they do now. But for sure anyone who argues whites aren't listening to rap are crazy. I just think that rap music is really telling you how violent the gang culture is. The gang culture started way before the rap music came. The rap music gave gangsters a way to make it big however because you don't have to be that talented. That brought them money and influence and it has just grown out of control from there. Problem is I can't be for censorship of any kind. You can say what you want on a record even if it is kill whitey.
A handful, just a small handful, have some talent. that should not be denied. Most are just gangsta's and thugs looking to make a quick buck selling their own form of garbage. And you wonder where Pacman gets it. Look no further than todays Rap music heroes. Freaking malcontents..dman

I wonder what percentage of black people would proudly say that Jackson and Sharpton represent their best interest and speak on issues how they would speak if they had the public forum. My guess, less than 50%.
I know a lot of black people. I know none who consider Sharpton/Jackson as spokesmen for black America. I know a number who are embarrased by these clowns and resent them. Fifty percent? I'd bet it's closer to 10-15%.
Well and there we have it folks. I hope the holier than thou PC crowd is happy to have ruined a 35 year career over a bad joke. I'm sure they are. Pretty soon we will all have to be afraid of anything we say for fear of being lynched. Enjoy.

Until some black leader like Obama comes out and says that Sharpton and Jackson should be disregarded as they don't speak for blacks, but rather for their own interests. Then maybe things will change and we can get some real black leaders for the black community. I think they probably already have them but they don't have all the money and power Jackson and Sharpton have. Plus the media helps Jackson and Sharpton stay powerfull by constantly showing their point of view to white and black viewers everytime there is a race issue.
Who are the white leaders in your community that tell you how to think?

Politicians like John McCain and Barack Obama, and famous TV journalists like Tim Russert and Cokie Roberts, are no more standoffish than their predecessors; the only difference is that the lamb chop has been replaced by a microphone. For some years now, the broadcast industry has conducted, via talk radio and reality TV, a series of experiments to gauge precisely how much personal humiliation the species Homo sapiens will consent to endure. <a name="return">The most </a>surprising finding is that <em>even people with constant access to the media</em> will make themselves available to interviewer-comedians like Sacha "Ali G." Baron Cohen or Stephen Colbert<a target="_blank" href="#correct">*</a>—performers whose <em>sole aim</em> is to get laughs at these celebrities' expense. If there's an outer boundary to what a famous journalist or politician will put up with, science has yet to find it.</p><p>In the direct-humiliation department, Imus falls well short of Colbert or Ali G. <em><a target="_blank" href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036713/">Imus in the Morning</a></em> is a variation on the experiment, wherein the belittling is indirect. Here, the research question is how long respectable journalists and politicians will associate themselves with a radio host who spews continual invective based on race, ethnicity, and religion. Without exception, <em>every</em> political and journalistic celebrity who appears on Imus' show is diminished. Yet they keep coming back. Is it because they don't <em>know</em> what Imus says when they aren't around? That's what they tend to claim. "I don't listen to the show," McCain <a target="_blank" href="http://tompaine.com/Archive/scontent/3254.html">told journalist Philip Nobile</a> in June 2000. In an April 9 appearance, Tom Oliphant <a target="_blank" href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200704090007">told Imus</a>, "Solidarity forever," but later covered his ass by saying, "I don't know beans about hip-hop culture or trash-talking or, what do you call those things where you run on forever? Riffs." One person who can't claim ignorance about Imus is Evan Thomas, who on April 9 <a target="_blank" href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/09/business/media/09carr.html?bl&ex=1176264000&en=b61791db8cd3b6cc&e i=5087%0A">told</a> the <em>New York Times</em>' David Carr that it would be "posturing" for him to refuse to go on Imus' show after Imus got dinged for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "<a target="_blank" href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200704040011?f=i_related">nappy-headed hos</a>." Thomas puffed Imus in a 1999 <em>Newsweek</em> cover profile ("The Ringmaster"). "With his quick takes and sense of the absurd," he wrote, "Imus is the perfect voice for an age that prizes irony over solemnity." The <em>Newsweek</em> piece made only glancing reference to Imus' penchant for uttering racial and ethnic slurs on the air, overlooking, for instance, the shock jock's admission the previous year on CBS News' <em>60 Minutes</em> that he'd <a target="_blank" href="http://www.onthemedia.org/yore/transcripts/transcripts_081801_imus.html">once told a colleague</a> he hired producer Bernard McGuirk to tell "****er" jokes. ("That was an off-the-record conversation," Imus protested to Mike Wallace.) </p><p>In the unlikely event that McCain, Oliphant, and others don't know who they're dealing with, let's review some of Imus' remarks (if you prefer, <em>riffs</em>) from the past. DJ Fired for Encouraging Listeners to Repeat Don Imus' Remarks
Wednesday, April 11, 2007
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A radio station fired its longtime morning DJ Wednesday after he encouraged listeners to repeat talk-show host Don Imus' racially charged comments in an on-air contest.
Gary Smith told WSBG-FM listeners to call and say "I'm a nappy-headed ho" for Tuesday's "Phrase that Pays" contest, said Rick Musselman, executive vice president of station owner Nassau Broadcasting Partners L.P.
Musselman said three of the listeners who called were awarded tickets to a NASCAR promotion at a local club.
Station management reviewed a tape of the broadcast of the "Gary in the Morning" show and fired Smith, Musselman said.
Musselman said that Smith was fired and not suspended because he uttered the slur in a premeditated manner, "with full knowledge of the reaction to Don Imus' use of the exact same phrase."
The nationally syndicated Imus was suspended for two weeks by CBS Radio and MSNBC after he called members of the mostly black Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos." Civil rights groups have demanded his firing.
WSBG 93.5, a 3,000-watt rock station, is based in Stroudsburg, about 40 miles northeast of Allentown. The Princeton, N.J.-based Nassau is privately held with more than 50 radio stations in the Northeast.

black people can call other black people anything they like and they can say anything about a white person and they are not at fault ... sorry ... thats racist ...

I wonder what percentage of black people would proudly say that Jackson and Sharpton represent their best interest and speak on issues how they would speak if they had the public forum. My guess, less than 50%.
For blacks locked into "1968" probably 80%
Every other black person nil.
They don't represent anything except their own interests. No one or two people speak for a large group living across the country. This was the mistake assassins made in the 60s thinking that if they 'killed the head the snake would die" as if all blacks were led by the nose in lockstep with a small group, and once they were eliminated blacks would disappear.

It's too bad that the media has soo much control over minds in this country. It is sad when a person considers a bigot like Imus a legend. Second the fat baffoon and the wannabe poet do not deserve the credit for bringing this into focus. The National Association of Black Journalists started and finished it.
It's shameful for you to even want a bigot to have the opportunity to continue to spew his negative venom on national airwaves. Imus did this many times without severe punishment. He apologised before and here he is again.

Well, Imus is off the air period now, I guess. Fired by CBS which I believe held the syndication for the radio show, and he's already off the MSNBC simulcast.
I have to say he earned it. Although I've heard similar comments on the program about more "jaded" public figures like Britney Spears, the Spice Girls, Hillary Clinton, I heard them one time yucking it up about comparing the black wife of a politician to a whore, the list goes on and on.
This time they picked on somebody that wasn't what one could say is a public figure and therefore maybe more jaded toward such remarks. Also, although Imus and his staff are known for similar remarks, usually they are part of comedy skits and seldom came from Imus himself.
This time Imus himself crossed the line himself, and got nailed.

They use "racism" as a forum and are only interested in self promotion when they can take a situation and continue to promote the "victim" role for the entire race of black people. This country's black population does not need 2 self promoting wind bags to "stick up" for them. I just wish that a prominant person from the black community would stand up and say it....kind of like Jason Whitlock did yesterday in the KC Star. I agree, when you enter college and subsequently law school as a young man or woman, I hardly think that anyone is struggling through grueling course work dreaming of the day that they can represent Thelma who is suing Snak Atak because she hurt her knee when she slipped on a puddle of grease in the parking lot. The people who should truly be pissed are the woman of the world, regardless of their color. I was oblivious to this till my much more intelligent wife brought it up, but she brought up some concrete examples of how sexist of a world we live in, and that is portrayed significantly in the media. And I think this signifies that. Looking at the picture of the basketball team it is obvious that they are not beautiful, but how many comments have been made about a mens basketball team because the guys on it were ugly? And it's not just men that perpetuate the sexists attitude BTW.

For every Yo MTV Raps there is the Chappelle show which was funnier then anything maybe i have ever watched. He made fun of both blacks and whites like only a black man can get away with. Violence had reared its ugly head in our big cities or the so called ghettos long before rap music came along. I don't think it's rap musics fault that we have violent street gangs, but it has made it worst. I think what it's done more then anything is make it more newsworthy. No one cared in 1980 when some street dealer got offed by a rival gang, but once it became rap superstar Tupac Shakur shot down white people started to notice more I think.

Imus affair opens deep divide on morning shows
By DAVID HINCKLEY
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Wednesday, April 11th 2007, 4:00 AM
Two sides of an intense debate surfaced separately on the radio yesterday over who, if anybody, gets to use derogatory words in public media.
Hosts on both morning shows at WFNY (92.3 FM) blasted what they called a gross overreaction to WFAN morning host Imus' offhand description of Rutgers women basketball players last week as "nappy-headed ho's."
But morning hosts Steve Harvey of WBLS (107.5 FM) and Miss Jones of WQHT (97.1) just as strongly declared that the official response so far - WFAN and MSNBC have suspended Imus' show for two weeks starting Monday - hasn't yet matched the offense.
WFNY morning co-host Opie charged that the Rev. Al Sharpton, who is leading a campaign to get Imus fired, "would never" criticize rappers who used similar language "the way you went after Imus."
"White people are completely castrated in this situation," said Opie's partner, Anthony, who said Imus' comment was just a joke that didn't work.
"It's meaningless," said Anthony. "These are just words."
Harvey and Miss Jones couldn't have disagreed more.
"People who think these terms can be used anywhere are wrong," said Harvey. "And no one should ever use them without realizing there will be repercussions."
"Imus uses 'nappy-headed ho'," said Miss Jones, "as his way of saying n-."
The Rev. DeForest Soaries, who has also been pushing for Imus' dismissal, said the phrase cast a wide net of denigration, touching women, women athletes and dark-skinned black women.
Soaries also criticized rappers like Jay-Z who use derogatory language, warning that "we all need to be more responsible, because if we say it about ourselves, white folks think they can say it about us, too."
Harvey said it's not the action of blacks that needs attention.
"If black people want to talk about each other a certain way, that's their option," he said. "Mr. Imus, you don't have that option. You can't say what I say."
Harvey added that if he were in Imus' shoes, "I'd probably fight the same way he's fighting. But it ain't gonna work."
WQHT broke out a parody song of an Imus-like voice singing "Nappy-headed Ho's" to the tune of "Wonderful World," while midmorning hosts JV and Elvis on WFNY played a parody bit where Imus repeatedly calls "The Imus Apology Hotline," only to find the answering machine will never accept his apology.
Miss Jones who played the famous Tsunami Song referring to Asians as "chinks" (after thousands of people died days earlier) LINK HERE (http://www.undercover.com.au/news/2005/jan05/20050127_missjones.html), thinks Imus's suspension was not enough. Meanwhile, she is still at her post at Hot 97 in New York where on her show just last week rapper 50 Cent was heard spewing racial remarks about Jews.
Does anybody else see a problem with this?

I think Jessie Jack...son and Al Sharpton should be fired for all the stupid and sensless things they've said about many of their own collegues in congress and in other forms of government. Seems like when a white man says something wrong, "We gotta make that man pay for all the years of racial injustice". When a black man says something wrong. " well , we were mistreated all these years and we have a right to say that." This is just what you would expect to see from Sharpton and Jackson. I would venture to say that "this " is not what Martin Luther King was all about. I think racial tensions would get better, not worse when those 2 dudes aren't spuwing out there version of racial equality.
Don't get me wrong, what Imus said was wrong and he should have apologized among other things, but to let it get to this point amounts to nothing less than a witchhung.

Right now 160,000 soldiers were told through the MEDIA (not the chain of command) that they are extending to 15 months and not a single thread on that. I would like to request prayers on that but I don't know if anybody here even really prays.

It's no different than when no black women were ever considered 'beautiful' but only 'attractive' no matter HOW they really looked. On the other hand, anything white and blond was instantly gorgeous and the so called ideal. I don't pretend to guess, but 'beauty' is whatever you think it is...I've seen people described as drop dead gorgeous and don't see it at all. Conversely, some very attractive people are called unattractive or homely for reasons that defy description. Women are always sexualized and made trivial. This takes away their power and effectiveness in society. They become cute caricatures. And unfortunately a lot of stupid women go along with the crap (ie places like HOOTERS) and now I heard of a golf course that has scantily clad women to accompany men to give them 'advice' on the golf course. What's the purpose? So they can look at the 'hotties'? Even phrases of speech that involve women basically refer to weakness or ineffectiveness, or their sexual body parts. The latest loveword on the internet is douchebag. I've seen and heard this a million times lately. Seems like people get ahold of one line and wear it out. Unless they make babies, women are still second class citizens in many eyes. If she's successful, she's a bitch, or slept her way up. Or connived. Or is a tool to be used for symbolism. Or isn't a real woman. Or cold. Blah blah blah.
Imus is just bug ugly...he and Mick Jagger have gotta be two of the homliest men I've ever seen.
Oh, and for the record, everyone latina ain't hot, either. this includes men AND women. They have homely and ugly people too, just like every race. But there's all kinds of ugly, you dig? 8')

Yeah, trampling on the 1st Amendment isn't such a big deal since they think they decide who gets to have it anyway. The ends justify the means apparently and yet they call their enemies Natzis. Jessie and Sharpton have asked alot of these rappers to stop talking about women in derogatory manner, but when people like Imus say these things it just gives them an a excuse to keep it up.
Lynchmob, unfortunately I have to correct you here. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have not protested rap music for the racial and sexist content. They have stood up against violence in rap music and Al Sharpton specifically has called out rappers who insight violence on each other. They have NEVER worked as hard as they do in situations like the Imus one to stop black on black racism and sexism! Bill Cosby has and he was lambasted for it!
After the Tsunami's we had a black radio shock jock "Miss Jones" call Asian kids "chinks" and guess who's still on the air today: LINK TO MY EARLIER POST (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showpost.php?p=1548619&postcount=567) She even had the guts to say Imus's suspension was not enough punishment. She apparently thinks calling Asian people "chinks" after a tragedy like the Tsunami doesn't compare to what Don Imus has done.
Look what comedian and radio show host Steve Harvey had to say in this interview below (sitting along side the racist shock jock Miss Jones):
People who think these terms can be used anywhere are wrong," said Harvey.
I love this quote by Miss Jones:
"Imus uses 'nappy-headed ho'," said Miss Jones, "as his way of saying n-."
As opposed to coming right out and calling Asian people chinks?
People who say that there is no double standard in this country are blind! What are we to make of this? Steve Harvey in one sentence is saying "people" (not black or white) just people need to know that these kinds of terms cannot be used anywhere. Then a few sentences later he basically says if black people want to talk about each other in a certain way that it's their option. What happened to "people" can't use these terms?
This problem will never go away until we get rid of the double standard and people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson stop cherry picking racial issues and denounce racism across the board.... including black on black!!!

Condoleezza Rice: I'm glad Imus was fired (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070413/pl_nm/usa_race_imus_rice_dc_1)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice said on Friday that radio host Don Imus' comments about the Rutgers University women's basketball team were "disgusting" and she was pleased he was fired.
Imus called the women players "nappy-headed hos" -- racist, sexist remarks that resulted in a barrage of protests and ultimately in the outspoken host losing his CBS Radio show, which was also televised.
"I'm very glad that there was, in fact, a consequence. I think that this kind of coarse language doesn't belong anywhere in reasonable dialogue between reasonable people," Rice said in an interview with syndicated radio show host Michael Medved.
Rice, the first black female U.S. Secretary of State and a former college professor, said the young women Imus targeted were fine athletes trying their best.
"It gets ruined by this disgusting -- and I'll use the word 'disgusting' -- comment which doesn't belong in any polite company and certainly doesn't belong on any radio station that I would listen to," she added.
Asked how she handled racist, sexist comments directed her way, Rice laughed and replied: "I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself. And I really don't care because, you know, I'm a mature woman."

I'm caucasian, so let me change the dialogue. "Those are some straight haired honkey's right there". Hmmm.....At first I'd probably laugh and stop watching his show if I did to begin with. I would come out and publicly state that this is America and everyone has the right to be an idiot and make idiotic comments. I would suggest that those who don't agree with his opinions stop tuning in to his programs and stop supporting his sponsors. I'd stop short of going on air and demanding he be fired. For me, it's as simple as that.

In this day, you can't say the same things that Imus sais and not get fired for it, it's sad because I do not agree with the firing but I'm not surprised about it at all. They suspended him for 2 weeks, keep that suspension and let the self-serving ass Al Sharpton get his camera time and it'll all blown over.
What it does show is the double standard that we have here, if Imus was a black man then he would get laughs and then move on, nothing would be done about it. Even if he was saying it about white women, calling them something offensive, he still wouldnt have any turmoil because he is a black man. Listen to rap music and listen to comedians, they say much worse than what Imus said, but somehow it is not offensive when they say it, yet it is when a white person says it.
There are black comedians that have their "sterotypical white man" joke, where they get all serious and crack jokes, and it's funny. Have a white comedians do a "stereotypical black man" joke and his career is over as he is protested and comedy clubs won't welcome him back.
Offensive is offensive no matter who says it, if I dont like being called something then I'm going to be upset at the person who said regardless of color, just wish it were the same for everybody.

I've also found found one of the funniest stand-up routines to be comedians of other races making fun of white people. So if it's of any relavance for my white ass to be laughing at other races making fun of whites, then there you go.
A good example of one of our jokes: whats blue and red and bangs on the glass? a baby in a microwave.
To me it's all harmless because I know the intentions of the people i'm interacting with. I know my buddy mike is a good person wouldn't actually enjoy watching a baby get put into a microwave, he wouldn't be the kind of person that would do something cruel to someone with a disability and he has never treated women with less respect than he treats men.
Also...our little group doesn't go around subjecting others to this humor, because we know most people don't like it.
So... for anyone who still reads this thread, by what i've described of myself here, am I a racist? I've admittedly used more racial slurs than I can count.

I've said it before and I will say it agian NO YOU ARE NOT A RACIST. A racist is not someone who thinks black jokes are funny, or uses the word N*****. Racism is about thinking your race is superior. That your race is more human than another race. You dehumanize the other races to the point where violence towards that race would be perfectly ok in you eyes. Racism is not giving a job to someone based on their color. Racism is a lot of things but I don't think racism is offensive jokes or language. But if you go out and use racial slurs to try and intimidate or dehumanize another race you are probably a racist.

Sharpton won't pursue it, he goes after the white people that he can put pressure on and will back down instead of get into a race war with him, the rappers aren't pushovers and will tell him to STFU and might even make a diss song about him if he were to go after them. It's not like he hasn't spoken of it before and is just starting to now because of Imus.

REV. AL SHARPTON, NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK: (http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0503/09/ltm.03.html) Good morning.
O'BRIEN: Aren't you concerned, though, that by raising awareness about this and talking about this, to a large degree you're putting money in the pocket of the people that you're trying to ban in the first place?
SHARPTON: Well, I think that that's a concern. But we've now seen consistent acts that's become a pattern. And I think to remain silent now is to really be a betrayal of our own young people.
I'm not talking about lyrics. I'm not talking about content. I'm talking about when an artist engages in violence that the FCC and advertising and radio stations have the right, as we do in sports, to say wait a minute, you cannot conduct yourself in that way, and say that you're going to use federally-regulated airwaves to promote your albums if you are, in fact, engaging in violence. Not singing about it, not rapping about it, but do a violent act.
O'BRIEN: Russell Simmons, who I know is a friend of yours, obviously the music producer, had this to say. He thinks in some ways you're pointing the wrong direction. Let's listen.
RUSSELL SIMMONS, RAP MOGUL: If a violent rap artist has some words that people don't like in middle America, we have to attack the root. That violence that 50 Cent or The Game is engaging in today is the same violence that's happening in Brooklyn and Queens and all over America today as well.
O'BRIEN: He says essentially that's their roots. This is what they're coming from.
SHARPTON: And if they're going to rap about it and sing about it, they have the First Amendment right. But if they do it, they don't have the right then to expect the airwaves to say that it's conduct that we're going to promote.
We do this to any basketball player, any baseball player. If they engage in violence, they're not in the next game. If you and Bill had a shootout outside last night, you would not be on the air this morning.
This is the only part of the entertainment industry, there's no rules. There's no regulation. And what I'm saying is Russell is right. They have the right to talk about the violence they come from. I come from that violence, but I do not have the right to go out and engage in violence, and then ask the federal airwaves to allow me to continue in my career like it's nothing.
Are we saying these kids are nothing? We saw the FCC outrage over Janet Jackson's flashing at the Super Bowl. We're not going to be outraged about actual shootings in front of radio stations?
O'BRIEN: What's the response been from the FCC?
SHARPTON: We're going to meet with them. We're going to meet with advertisers. We want to know why dollars that come out of our communities are being used to uphold those that engage in violence. Again now, I'm not talking about content. I'm talking about actual acts of violence. Are we condoning them by not putting a standard in the business?
O'BRIEN: Do you then see a voluntary imposition of these standards from the entertainment industry? Do you think that's realistic?
SHARPTON: It's been done in sports every day. We do it in every form of sports. We do it in Hollywood. There's a moral clause in contracts. There's one in your contract.
O'BRIEN: But you don't -- but in my contract, it doesn't -- I'm not better off if I engage in violence. When you're talking about rappers, it actually builds their credibility. It makes them more popular. For most people, that's not the case. A shootout doesn't help their career. For rappers, it actually helps their career and the industry, frankly.
SHARPTON: It may help because it's permitted. It would not help if it is not permitted, because if stockholders of advertisers say wait a minute, we didn't realize this is what we're allowing to happen, it would not help their career, which is exactly my point.
If you take the profit out of it, it would not help their careers. If a guy gets into an argument and goes for his gun and thinks, wait a minute, I could lose my airplay, it might make that gun stay in the holster. And that is what I'm saying.
We need to stop helping them make their careers by acting in a violent way. We need to say, say what you want, do what you want. I think some of the music is great. I'm a fan of some of the music. Some I think is misogynist. But that's not the point. The point is we've got to give them an incentive to say no matter what my rap is, I don't have the right nor is it going to be lucrative to me to engage in that activity personally.

Thats exactly how i see it going down as well. Once sharpton gets ridiculed by the hip hop artists he will fold like a paper towel. Unlike the Imus incident there wont be a mass of african americans to back up Sharpton's war on Hip Hop. It will be much more the other way around.

Okay, lets trade sides on that double standard. You get the perks that black people get, which isn't much. And black people get that perks that white people get. Lets see how many white folks would want to make a black joke that bad. Probably zero.
dont blame me. you people have the oppurtunity. what do you do with it? i work with alot of african americans and ill call it like i see it. the ones i have worked with want a paycheck they dont wanna earn it. and when they are asked to do something they think that just because they are black that you cannot ask them to do anything with out it being racist. they all feel that whitey owns them something. they have equal oppurtunity. its eaisser to get a hand out then actually do something to improve themselves.. and although the stero type is not always right. given my expirence it is more true then not.
