Anyone else here as pumped for this game as I am? This is a huge test for the Nuggets and should give us a glimpse of what to expect in the playoffs.
A friday night, playoff atmosphere, nationally televised game........
I think Mr. Iverson is primed for a big night :notworthy

Well yes, teams that miss the playoffs nine times out of ten are second-rate.
It's kind of like a complete solar eclipse.
Once every 10 years the Chiefs will make the playoffs and be defated by the eventual Super Bowl Champs.
January 1997 defeated by Denver, January 2007 defeated by Indianapolis.

Phoenix, as they play run and gun like we do. They may kill the Nugs from 3 pointers but the Spurs play solid D and force the game to half court which negates any advantage the Nugs have.

Of course it helps the Nuggs more as no one gave them a chance to win. Local radio today were mocking the hell out of them. The Mavs they lost game number 13 no big deal to them.
The Nuggs actually looked like a team tonight. All were watching out for eachother they were into it when others scored. I just wish they would play like a team this way all the time.

Well, Phoenix.
BUT, for some reason we always manage to play San Antonio tough. I know the last time we played was a blowout, but before that, we usually play them tough. Not sure why, maybe the match up. Generally they end up beating us, but it's not a beat down. And theoretically we could make it a competitive series.
But yeah, I'd still rather have Phoenix.

It seems the lack of a run-stopping defense is definitely permanent in KC.
More importantly, that was a great game by the nuggets disgused as an ugly win. Tonight the shots were not falling but they kept playing tough defense and smart basketball.
The Nuggets don't need to worry about scoring only 75 points, they can throw up points with the best of 'em. Undoubtdley there will be a game in the playoffs like this one and now the Nuggs know they can win it.

But he is so one sided. He is strictly Defense and he still breaks down there sometimes. Chicago isn't pleased with what they got. With the Pistons he was an essential part to a well oiled machine of a team. But take any part out of the machine and its worth plummets. If I am Dallas, I don't wanting anything to do with Iverson/Melo if they fall to the eighth seed. Even with a healthy J-HO they don't have an answer for those two guys and it must be scaring the **** out of Avery Johnson. Win 65 games and lose in the first round? He must be ****ting himself.
If the Nuggs learn to move the ball more and play defense, they can make a lot of noise.
GonzoLays
04-07-2007, 11:31 AM
Then again, the Nuggs treated last night's game like a playoff contest and the Mavs treated it like another game so you probably can't look toooo much into it but if you are a nuggs fan you have to come away with a sense of "we can do this" because the Mavericks had no answer for Iverson/Melo. Nobody on their team could guard those guys and that's not going to change anytime soon.
When you have not one, but TWO guys who can get any shot they want at anytime like the Nuggs do, that's got to be freaking scary for a opposing coach. You can't gameplan that.
theAPAOps5
04-07-2007, 11:40 AM
Problem is Nuggs are getting to the line a lot and that all goes away in the playoffs so they have to shoot better. They also have to not regress into regular season mode and complain about every foul that isn't called. Last nights game was fun to watch and Melo and Iverson made some clutch shots. I also like the way Nene is playing, man that diet and workout he went on really has improved his season.

If I am Dallas, I don't wanting anything to do with Iverson/Melo if they fall to the eighth seed. .
This is comical, too. Dallas would destroy the Nuggs in a playoff series. Check out these scores:
W 105-90
W 89-85
W 115-95
L 75-71
The Nuggets are the Mavs bitches. You can't count on the Mavericks having an off night for the entire series. They played like **** last night and lost Howard for most of the game.

This comical. They combined for 16-44 shooting. Yeah, they destroyed the Mavericks.
It doesn't matter what they went for, at the end of the game you cannot Melo was making it look like child's play out there.
Just because their jumpshots were not falling has nothing to do with getting 'open looks.' It was just an off shooting night for everyone invlovled in that game.

the impressive thing is that the nuggets ALSO played like sh!t.....and still won.
there's no doubt the nuggets are the most dangerous of the lower seeded teams.
had they taken care of business at home (a mystery unexplained) they wouldve won 50 with their eyes closed, and its their ROAD record that makes them dangerous.
