The sculpt makes John look fat at some angles. I like the added knee brace.

Nice peice for 10 bucks! In stores in August.

Champ Bailey figure gets released in Oct. I can't wait to see teh sculpt on him!

The Bo Jackson one looks good I think.

I got the 12 inch version of Elway 1, it was a gift from a friend. Had a chance at getting the reg version (6 inch) just didn't like it, not to mention having the space for another Elway.

But version 2 will land on my shelf.

Yes.

But as a Bronco fan I can't give any credit to any Chef,Fade, or Eggo. It's a matter of pride.

But yes the Bo is a nice looking figure.

Looks like a fair representation of the Duke to me. He wasn't a pixie by any means. He was/is a very big man. Just athletic as hell.

At least McFarlane has John in a pose where there is no doubt that this is him.

One of the popular McFarlane Elway figures is really a Craig Morton pose. True story. It's a total sham that McFarlane got away with, because both guys wore 7.

If you have the McFarlane Elway piece where it appears he is rolling right, that is a Craig Morton model figure.

That's it. There used to be a press photo of Craig Morton that was also a very popular 8 1/2 X 11 of Craig, that was used all over the place, by all media outlets. And that figurine is based on that photo.

Also, the body proportions in that figurine are much closer to Morton than Elway.

On the rare time that Morton ran, he was very 90 degree with his arms and legs, just like that figurine. His 90 degree arm was a Morton staple.

Also notice the striping you see there. The Broncos NEVER wore a uniform that McFarlane has presented here. This supposed Elway figure, which is really a Craig Morton model, shows the arm striping worn until 1988, with the pants striping that only started in 1989.

The include the Elway pants striping on a Morton model, and disgraced the hobby.

I love the Sharpe piece, in the orange jersey. Why is it so expensive though?

I donīt really collect them, either, but they look good on my TV ... Iīve got a Plummer McFarlane, the orange Elway and a Broncos mini helmet on my TV. I only buy Broncos figures.

I take it the grass stains on John's pants came from dives into the endzone.

Just staring at that pose brings back so many wonderful memories... And that right foot is pigeon toeing just so slightly before release...

I gotta get one of those...

Yo where the info on the champ figure?

I bought a Champ Bailey custom figure last year on ebay for $96. The dude that did it did an awesome job. It was originally a Chad Johnson. You wouldn't even tell.

This one is the same custom figure except mine has the white pants.

The MIZUNO Days! John's first shoe contract ...

Funny story, I used to sign most of Elway's autographs in '83 and '84 when I was there ... nothing collectible or valuable, just pictures and fan postcards ... there were sackfuls back then (he okayed it - my sig is almost identical to his). Then one day I was in a King Soopers or something - and there was a Mizuno display behind some Doritos I think. I looked close, and sure enough! 8')

Ha!

Here's the info on the release.

Ouch $96! Ingencorp made me one for $60 he used the Deon Sanders.

I made a white jersey version myself. But not as nice as Ingecorp's.

I also just got done making a Cutler and modified a Portis into a Henry.

I think it's to simulate the flak jacket underneath the jersey, so that's actually more accurate.

The second view captures John's expression pretty good!

The model looks more like Tom Berenger(sp?). Actually the pose is okay, but the body type and face aren't close. If it weren't for the big number 7 on his chest, I don't think you would even be able to tell it was him.

The second Elway edition looks nice. Too bad they didn't do a two pack with Elway's famous XXXII helicopter spin though.

Got the McCaffrey/Zach Thomas twin pack a few years ago...

http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=2337

... and paid $50 for it after shipping from e-bay. Paid a premium but they weren't anywhere to be seen north of the border.

They should make a Rod Smith too someday.

I think it's cool, but I would have preferred a pose of The Duke releasing the ball. John balled his left hand into a fist when he let fly, something I think added to his aura.
