These poll results will

COSTCO - the Seattle based eco-friendly big-box-pioneer chain that pays all employees a minimum $10/hour, even food-sample servers, or ....

SAM'S CLUB - Big box chain started by predatory, retail bad citizen Wal-Mart. Average Wal-Mart/Sams Club hourly wage is just under $9 ... less than the minimum Costco wage.

It's too bad those workers at Walmart are forced at gun point to work there. Oh, wait a minute...

Walmart sucks!

I dare you to tell Ryan Leaf that..."Hello, welcome to Wally World..."

I don't like either.

I'm reminded of Homer and Marge going thru big box world and buying lifetime supplies of stuff. Then they couldn't get it all in the car.

Although one would probably make more working at Walmart than in childcare...sick isn't it! :(

I like them both. However, looking at their political contributions which CostCo gives mostly to the bastards that like to raise my taxes so that makes me lean towards Sams Club when they both have a significant product that I want...like my new 42inch Vizio LCD HD TV I just bought two weeks ago.

For hardware, I always go to the local Ace. There is always someone ready to help my cluless ass. Plus, Fisk's daughter is a hottie and has half a dozen hotties working there. heh. There is always an old hardware guy around tho for that fine threaded screw. I would like to give Fisk's daughter a fine threaded screw, but she goes about her busines with her kid in a shopping cart half the time.

Groceries, I go to Fairway, which actually has an old style meat department/deli. Less expensive than Wally World and only a few blocks away.

It was really crafty how Wally World put in that oil chane/tire station in it's superstores...you wind up grazing for up to an hour.

The bottom line is Wal-Mart had a business model that worked. I agree that the employees are under paid and under or non insured. If you go in one at 4 AM and say hi to worker bees stocking they usually just grunt at you.

If your looking for cheerie faces working at Wally World, good luck.

Both are like some kind of cult. When I go there I feel like I haven't bought enough. I really only get vitamins, toiletries, etc... While all the other patrons have like 2 carts full. The cashier always asks "is that all today". To top that off they make you pass by the worker who looks at your reciept and the items you purchase, subjecting you to further humiliation for not buying a gallon of mayonaise.

Sam's Club and Walmart allow people to park thier RVs in thier parking lots overnight. Plus Stan Kroenke is married to a Walton, so I guess I will vote Sam's Club.

Good luck with that!
It may be a "name" brand but my guess is it has cheap parts manufactured specifically for Walmart. The "name" brand companies are being enticed by going with cheaper parts for specific companies. So that tv that you buy at walmart...even though it has thesame name brand as it would in an electronic store...probably has cheaper parts...less quality.
I'm sure Target is the same way...but at least it's a cleaner place to shop than Walmart.

Costco is the better company as far as being socially aware and paying their employees actual living wages, but prices are pretty much the same at both places. Costco used to have an awesome return policy where they would pretty much take anything back at any time for any reason, but I think they put an end to that a few months ago.

So it's up to you.

Your confusing Wal-Mart with K-Mart Sassy, which, BTW is now owned by Sears and has much higher quality, especially in clothing...something that inevitable unless you got clothes at Marshalls and shoes at Payless.

Walmart...Kmart...no different in my opinion.
For the record, I don't consider Sears "High" quality either!
I bought a tv from there that never did work right.

KMart...high quality? LOL! ALL junk in either place.

I love target and Denver or a suburb has an awesome two story target. Sadly I got my pic taken riding the escalator in the Target. Sorry we don't have many multiple story building s in my fair city.

Actually for anyone who knows. Sears bought K-mart because they sold absolute crap and went broke. There is nothing wrong with Sears clothing at all but name. It's better quality than wally world now.

Foir awhile, if you wanted a see thru shirt, you could just go to K-Mart...oh the good old days when a button fell off the first time you put it on.

O was given 3 super nice sweaters, long sleeve, that came from K-Mart today, and they were so damn clearance price they were 30 dollars. then 14, then 1.99. They are all nice too.

6 bucks for three sweaters designed to sell for a hundred? Works for me. I'm old enough to see crap.

I dare you to tell Ryan Leaf that..."Hello, welcome to Wally World..."

I actually saw that bozo in Austin a little while back. He was driving a truck that had a big "Cowboy Up" sticker on the back window. I **** you not. One of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

I have many river canyon blues jeans from sears. Of course I have shirts that I have worn since 16 from target. Have uniforms at work so not much for updating my wardrobe. Lots of Old Navy stuff and target shirts and Sears jeans.

Costco hands down. Cleaner. Better organized. And the CEO takes a reasonable salary and pays people well. Very seldom do people quit a job at Costco.

The deli stuff is terrific. Bakery - well, best to stay away from that aisle all together. Really good cheese. - Of many varieties.

Plus Costco buys in bulk from many different suppliers so they don't always have the same things time after time.

I love the place.

Actually not the case with Vizio...Top rated in most classes. The company was created by a couple of guys that were experts in in the TV industry and they went to CostCo and Sams Club and laid out a business plan that they would produce top of the line TV's for much less cost to them if they would garantee to buy a huge number of TV's over a few year period. This allowed them to basically remove any sales staff and the huge expense that comes with it.

I found out about this from a guy who is an executive VP of sales for another top electronics company. He told me off the record a person would be silly to buy any other LCD or Plasma TV brand right now as they stuff they are producing is high end quality and able to do it for less than anyone else.

Take a look for yourself...Here is the study and reviews done by PC World. Of the 32inch LCD, 37inch LCD and 42inch Plasma categories they review the Vizio was top rated in 2 of them and 2nd rated in the other.

Yay, Sassy! I'm with you about Target. I've got one two blocks from my apartment, and I worked there for a while last fall when I needed some extra $$. (Overnight stocking crew: interesting times.)

Costco is "the $100 store", cuz I can hardly ever get out of there for less than that.

I loathe Walmart, and will not shop there for anything I can possibly purchase anywhere else.

m.

Nothing to do with the way you phrased the question as a political one. Costco is cleaner, more convenient for me and has better quality meat than our local grocery sotres.

Definitely cleaner than WalMart...The Sams Clubs around Indy are kept neat and clean but the WalMart's are disgusting. It has been a long time since I have stepped foot into a WalMart and will likely stay that way. Target is definitely a much better run place.

Our Super Walmart has been kept up somewhat better but the way it was before they remodeled was disgusting.

We don't have Costco out here...but I've been to the one at my sister's...
