ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The month began with the Broncos making a flurry of moves. It ended with one of them being nixed.

Saturday, the trade for Dan Wilkinson was officially declared null and void after the 14-year veteran did not report to he Broncos by a date spelled out in the agreement.

Consequently, the Broncos reacquired the sixth-round pick in April's draft that they sent to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the defensive tackle.

The Broncos have two sixth-round picks -- theirs and that of the Detroit Lions, to which they swapped their fifth-round pick in Dré Bly deal, which was announced within 24 hours of the Wilkinson trade.

I allready strung up nylon ski rope over a rafter in the garage for this eventuality. Adios Amigos.

Seriously, I'm a little dissapointed because of a reported thick class of DT's next year. The deal could be revived I guess as long as it was before the draft, but if the clown can't even manage a simple phone call, even to his agent, **** him.

SoCal never saw a draft pick he didn't love.

I like that we got the pick back, though.

When Denver drafts RB in the late rounds most teams take a second look at their picks.

I would love to get Griffin in a slight move down, move up in the second for Pittman and spend the rest of the draft all on DL.

Good, this'll force us to draft DL, hopefully.

Cool ! Now if we get only convert the 6th into a 4th. I would even be generous and sacrifice 6 & 7 for 4.

I don't unerstand why he'd want to play for a team that traded him, and is a perennial loser as well. What an idiot.

Not for long. We'll trade it to the Falcons for Grady Jackson.:giggle:

That sucks, odds were on Big Daddy contributing more in just this year than that 6th would in his entire career.

Probably because they wont medically assess him nor make him come to camp. The fat fvck can lie on the beach all camp.

I'm serious I reckon they'll ship it again for another player. They dont have that $9m in cap room for nothing. Wilkinson departing saves us another $1.7m

Don't think it saves anything, he never reported so the trade never officially went down.

We're certainly better on the 2nd day with RB's. TD, Anderson and Gary come to mind. The only 1st day hit was Portis.

It does in my figures cos I was counting him in as he was listed as a Bronco on NFLPA with a base of $2m this year.

I stand corrected, if he was at NFLPA then he was counted for cap purposes.

Need to draft or sign another fat guy! Someone like 330+, a huge fat blob that can glog the middle. Someone like the Fat DL (Finch) in the movie wildcats (circa 1986)!

Last I heard he was close to re-signing with the Bears. They need him given the possibility Tank misses time with a suspension hanging over his head.

On a sidenote Herc that figure is probably going to go over $10m unless they're giving Bly a major chunk up front and a decent base this year. Doubt it though plus his cap hit at present is $4.2m.

There's something afoot or else he wants the room to make an immediate move if a high base salaried player becomes available around the draft. I wouldn't put it past him trying to get Rogers.

I don't know why you laugh ... I've seen his medical records, and he's good to go!

But Inkana could be right too .... now we need to draft a DT. Neither Okoye nor Branch will drop to 21. So I say look for value later:

I agree. Unless they plan to make a run at someone who will require (or is already due) a nice chunk of change, they've got a ton of unneccesary cap space at this point in FA.

Getting a dynamic two-gapper like Rogers would be the best move we've made since...ummmmm Javon Walker. HA!

But you get the point. I bet we could get him for our 2nd plus some other stuff. That would be just nuts...

Yeah ... he loves his draft-picks, he does ...

Actually, I agree with Herc ... other than Okoye or Brach - who we can't get without moving up - nobody will help us this year nearly as much as Bg Daddy would have.

And I got that info off the CalBears and Fresno State sites...

Just a hunch here but I reckon the reported lack of interest from Detroit for Al Wilson is b/s. They instigated original trade talks for him whenever we made the move for Bly. Wilson for Rogers straight up would be a fair deal for both teams. Rogers doesn't want to be on a loser team anymore and looks like the Broncos dont value Wilson anymore. However if the Lions attempt to deal Shaun they're looking at an acceleration of $10m against their cap. He got an extended contract in 2005 with a $15m signing bonus.

It's just as well that fat turd didn't report. So much hype for nothing. Underachiever for his career. I don't think he knows what it's like to be on a winning team.
I say trade back a few spots, get an extra pick, and pick up Justin Harrell.

Every time I read your posts now, I hear them in Bogart's voice in my head.

Bogart was incredible ... prolly my favorite "Movie Star," (as opposed to actor).

I'm gonna get one of these soon: http://www.amazon.com/Humphrey-Bogart-Signature-Collection-Three-Disc/dp/B000GIXLVQ/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-4342767-1831137?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1175417387&sr=8-2
