OK, technically, it wasn't in his own crib, which makes it worse actually. As Kyle said when Cartman fed his rival Scott Tinnerman chili made with his dead parents: "Jesus Christ dude!" I'm not making comedy of it, or Marshall's run in, but this is the real deal.

I wonder if he will have a little talk with Goodall, say in 5 years. If she miscarries, it's murder via infacide.

Buccaneers' Lionel Gates Arrested for Battery

The Associated Press

TAMPA — Buccaneers running back Lionel Gates was arrested and charged with hitting a pregnant woman in the face and pushing her into a wall during an argument.

The 25-year-old player was being held Friday with no bond, jail records said.
Gates kicked in the front door of Peggie Lavender’s apartment Thursday night, destroyed two televisions and two doors, put a hole in the bedroom wall and assaulted her, a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office report said. He was arrested later at his apartment in the same complex.

Gates was charged with burglary of a dwelling, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and criminal mischief. A call to his lawyer, Ken Sarnoff, was not immediately returned.

“Charges such as those facing Lionel Gates are taken seriously by the Buccaneers organization,” the team said in a statement Friday. “We plan to meet with Lionel as soon as possible after which we will deal with this matter appropriately.”

Gates was signed by Tampa Bay in September after being released by Buffalo. He played at Louisville and was drafted by the Bills in 2005.

Its basically a non-story because he's a crappy football player. If it was a star player, people would be working to "help him get his life in order."

True, but he gets the triple point bonus on PFT's Turd watch regardless.

That will be his career highlight, I would imagine.

Hopefully, this prick will get 5-10 in maximum security.

Yup. The prospect of winning football games puts some people in hyper-rationalization mode.
"Well, if she was smart, she would've simply let him into the damn house - he might've cooled off if she hadn't locked the door on him! Besides, he'll pay for the TVs, and they'll be BETTER TVs than the ones he broke! Maybe even Hi-Def! She should be HAPPY!"

Some women aren't happy less they can make you jump through the hoops. I hope Brandon Marshall comes to realize how manipulated he was in this situation.

This could be a blessing in disguise honestly. Noone was hurt and he got his ground rules explained to him.

This might be the most disturbing crime committed by a NFL player in the past 365 days but it's barely a blip on the radar screen because it's "Lionel Gates". If this involved a Bengal or Pac Man, this thread would already be at least three pages deep.

My wife can chew some azz when she's preggo (my azz hurtz for a solid 9 mos) - that said, I've never felt like I needed to get in her face - she's carrying a kid and that alone is worthy of having a 'bad day or trimester'. In the end the result is always worth it! When you're selfish enough to hit a woman you've made more than just one wrong decision, you've made 10-12 bad decisions before you raise the hand/fist. And that kind of failure in judgement is jail time.
