Some of us in the past have discussed Alabama WR Tyrone Prothro who looked like a great prospect two years ago until he sufferred a seriously broken leg. I just saw this and thought I would pass it along.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama receiver Tyrone Prothro has had another operation on his left leg and ankle.

The surgery at DCH Regional Medical Center, performed last Thursday by Dr. Les Fowler, was to remove scar tissue restricting range of motion on his ankle, the university said in a statement Monday.

It was at least the third time Prothro has had surgery since sustaining a compound fracture while attempting to make a leaping catch against Florida on Oct. 1, 2005.

He spent a month in the hospital after infection set in.

Let's draft Bush and Prothro. After all broken legs aren't that big of a deal.

In no way was I suggesting that. Several of us have discussed him in the past couple of years and the article was posted for the information of those who follow college ball. Prothro was a great college player that got hurt and likely never play again. Had he not been hurt, he would have been an amazing prospect and maybe one of the most exciting players in the NFL. He was smart, Quick and fast and could probably out jump anyone in the league. Too bad we will probably never be able to see him perform again.

I'm pretty happy that the guy has a relatively functional leg to walk on. He's lucky not to have an amputation... suffering an open tib/fib fracture with dirt smeared into the wound is just about a death sentence to a leg. Sounds like he's done with football.... big deal. Try living the life of an amputee and see what sucks worse.
