Just as well. They could get Grady Jackson without giving up a pick.

Woulda made a decent stopgap but they probably can't see his junk with wood. This hardly shakes the franchise foundation to it's core.

Can someone please post where/how this has been confirmed?

Its neither a surprise nor a disappointment but stuck here in the UK (and at work) I don't get the benefit of local Denver radio...

Who cares - Dan just didn't want to leave Miami. I predict he will be in the NFL next year, probably with the same team he is playing for.

We are better off without this guy. People have called him openly lazy. He has avoided our calls for about a month now. WHY would we want him. Championships are not won with guys like this.

That link confirms nothing Req. Its says likely much like the Post said Wilson to the Giants was a done deal last week.

the signing of mckinnley signaled this IMO

I've been to various sports news sites and I can't find anything to confirm this. Even www.nfl.com has nothing. This could just be people at the Post talking out of their arse (again).

Very poor article. First, it's completely assumptive regarding Wilkinson.

Second, there is a fog who could recover remaining signing bonus. Denver has allready paid it. So Miami can go after something they didn't pay a dime for? Whether Miami or Denver has a right to that money is pretty simple IMO. If he reports, Denver owes the full bonus and, if he doesn't the trade would be off IMO.

If Miami were allowed to sue for a pro rated signing bonus that would never stand up in court. You can't sue for something you never lost. The trade would void and we would return the pick and hold his rights. How can we be left holding the bag and then Miami sues for something they never paid? It's ludicrous.

my question is, how did that fat a-s fit into one of those cabins on a cruise liner? I swear, when he walked down to the other end of whatever Norwegian Cruise Liner he was on, it must of messed up the shuffleboard game on the other side of the ship.

Also, imagine having to stand behind that guy in the omelette line....

I'd be grateful if the thread-starter could post again to confirm if he was just going off the DP article or if he's actually seen something more firm than that.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the guy not being sure if he wants to play for us or not, what I do have a problem with is him not even returning our calls so that we can work out what the f**k's going on.

Play if you want to, don't play if you don't but don't run away and hide like a b**ch.....

Still though it signals Broncos thinking. Get McKinley who can play end and tackle in a role player type role. Get the pick back. Look to draft.

I agree to a certain extent but I still expect Bates to maybe push for that 6th rounder to be used on another current NFL player.

I'd rather keep our sixth at this point.

I need to revise my starting defense on the D-line then;

Instead of

DE: Scrub 1, Scrub 2 (with Scrub 3 and Scrub 4 as backups)
DT: Scrub 1, Scrub 2 (with Scrub 3 and Scrub 4 as backups)

We are going to have to change it to:
DE: Scrub 1, Scrub 2 (with Scrub 3 and Scrub 4 as backups)
DT: Scrub 1, Scrub 3 (with Scrub 4 as backup)

How about Antwon Burton?......our practice squad fat-body DT from last year....

He's listed as 6'2", 318 lbs.

Fat a$$.....perhaps he'll step it up......

You missed a scrub. I don't know if it's the local guy with no real talent, the guy who used to be somebody but will fail miserably with us, or the guy that nobody heard of but his measurables mean he SHOULD be good.

I sure hope we draft any cripples this year. At least we haven't brought in any bi polar Defensive Tackles. We have? Oh. I guess that explains why no other team picked him up.

I actually think that if you're talking about long-shots, the best bet is Demetrin Veal. He seemed to have a knack of making plays in the limited action he did get.

Admittedly he's not even close to the Bates prototype being a shade under 290lbs, and Bates has made it clear that his overall preference is for two big chunky guys in the middle, but size is only one factor in the mix. If they can't find a guy they like at that size the lighter guys will get a shot.

I'm not dismissing Burton as he does fit the prototype, but he's an undrafted free agent who has a grand total of one assist to his name. If Veal is a long-shot then Burton needs a telescopic rifle.......

I'm assuming that Myers has finally signed somewhere else? His name appears to have been greyed out on the depth chart.....

Just checked out nfl.com - Myers is officially 'the man with no team'. Maybe here has been zero interest because of his age? I thought he was younger but he's a 10-year vet who just turned 31 this Jan.

Presumably once the free-agency period begins, players not signed aren't officially with their old team in any capacity but I thought they still got listed untill camps started?

Damn, If Shanny wants to give me minimum, I'll start woofing down the P&J's right now. I'm 6'4 at 220 right now but I'm sure I could get that to 300 by camp. I'll gladly report to camp at 300 for minimum contract..............lol;D

There was a thread a couple of months ago where footsteps called this as a possible trade - he did a detailed analysis on the kid that made it sound like he was the ideal guy for our system and a diamond in the rough.

Concerned that he's just been completely released though - he's not seen a lot of action so i don't think it would have cost much to keep him.

Another odd thing is that nfl.com lists him as a falcons player!

Wow...I didn't see that. This is a guy I wouldn't mind having. I posted on him a while back. He's got some talent and played well when he was in there last year. He's super strong and was an outstanding athlete in college and high school. I'd rather have him than the fat tub of lard we almost gave up a draft pick for.
