View Full Version : Patsies...........sorry but I happen to think this is pathetic
I just saw a commercial on NFL network and briefly saw a picture of the Patriots Superbowl ring, their latest one. I do believe I saw that it said "3 out of 4".
Okay, is it just me or is that the most stupid thing ever. Back to Back is okay, even 3peat but 3 of 4 sounds like you're bitter you didn't get 3 in a row. It's sorta like saying I almost graduated college. Geez, they can't get over it, the fact they didn't win 3 in a row. I think having that on the ring is pathetic.

I wouldn't as far as call it pathetic, because it's very hard to do what they did... But to put that on the ring is weird, I agree.

Meh. I don't care what they put on it. They could put the "Manning face" on it for all I care.
Of all the damn nerve.

I agree that three out of four should only apply if you've appeared in four super bowls... I just now realized they have, so that's how you can justify it.
Now I guess KC Chiefs will want to put 2 out of 40 if the win again.

They have to change it to 3 out of 5 with that theory Kay. They lost to the Bears in '85 and the Pack in '96 ( I know you knew that, brainfart bro)

Doh, I forgot about the 85 bears! Ok, yeah it doesn't make sense then.

It seems to me that they should, somehow, make the fact that they won 3 in 4 years somewhat remembered. I mean, that is quite an amazing feat.

hell, while they were at it they should have been more specific and put "3 out of 4 including a back to back in the free agent / salray cap era". That would be a heavy ring. Only Bruschi could wear it comfortably though.

I find it strange that it has "Kraft" on it.... Why? and why do the owners get to hold the trophy first? Only in America.

Bruschi could scribe that on a grain of rice with his junk.

SB rings are famous for being incredibly tacky. Denver's B2B ring is pretty cool tho.
I guess if it says Kraft on it, it must be incredibly cheesy.

I agree ... very gay. WAY too cryptic for a ring.
I would've chosen the simple one-word inscription "DYNASTY" above or below three Lombardi trophies.

Putin liked it. In fact he liked it so much he didn't give it back when Kraft let him wear it. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2005/06/29/for_putin_its_a_gem_of_a_cultural_exchange/

That's definitely a little queer. The 9-0 Playoffs part is lame too. I'm sure there are a couple players who weren't part of the first two. What about them?

Well, Vladimir Putin stole Kraft's personal ring from one of the earlier victories, so I guess Kraft wanted to make sure this one wasn't as readily transferrable. Or maybe he's planning on punching Putin next time he sees him, and with this ring the bruise will say "Kraft".

Jeez, it was the "3 of 4" ring. Did Kraft ever ask for the ring back?
That was a hilarious occurrence. To me, anyway.
