Not really what happened. He says we don't grow our own defensive linemen. That's not true at all. We grow them and then when they get good we let them go.

Pryce,Berry & Hayward
other than that we patch & get "sleepers" & former "busts"

It's actually worse than that. Berry was an INDY draft pick that sat out a year before DEN signed him. So, DEN has drafted about two of the 43 DL that have played significantly for Shanahan since he started drafting. A few of them like Dorsett Davis and Montae Reagor were decent rotational guys, but never were starters or major contributors.

ah crap i forgot about that, your right Berry was in that "sleepers" catergory & it took him like 2-3 years to become good i think
well i'm thinking Shanny should just 3 peat on DL like he did on CB's to solve the problem :)

Ahh...spring just isn't complete without a Pastabelly article bashing the Broncos. Sad part being there's a lot of truth in what he wrote.

But is there? We've had the Browncos for 2 seasons, one of which involved us getting to the AFC championship. I don't think these guys were ever viewed as the long term solution (aside from Gerard Warren) It wasnt like we got them and went 5-11.

Get your facts straight Pastabelly......we did let Hayward and Berry walk. Both those guys got big contracts elsewhere.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics, again. There's no base rate information included in this type of article. What matters is Shanahan's placement rate for DLmen compared to other coaches in the league. Simply knowing that there were a number of failures is entirely uninformative. Most 2nd-round picks don't end up being full-time starters in the NFL. Always remember that these writers don't get paid to think, they get paid to sell advertisements.

Honestly, of all the things to write about during the off-season, this load writes about our failings on the d-line, and the fact we pickup former Browns.
Why? There is so much more going on. I don't get it. What's his problem with us? Honestly, for a guy who can't see his own wiener, he really has a har- on for us. If you go over to espn, and hit replies, the haters are all over the Broncos.
