FINS STILL SNIFFING AROUND GREEN

Gred Bedard of he Palm Beach Post reports that the Dolphins and the Chiefs are still working toward a trade that would send quarterback Trent Green to Miami. The only sticking point? Green's pay in 2007.

He's due to receive $7.2 million, $7.7 million, and $9.2 million in base salaries over the next three seasons. The Fins want to pay him far less than that. Per Bedard, the two sides are "in the same ballpark."

Under the deal, the Fins would send to Kansas City the second-round pick that Miami received from the Patriots as part of the Wes Welker trade. If the deal goes through, it'll be the third straight year in which a second-round pick was given up by the Dolphins for a quarterback.

The acquisition of Green could mean the end of the road for quarterback Daunte Culpepper in Miami, who was acquired from Minnesota last year for the Dolphins' second-round pick in the 2006 draft.

I would be shocked...just shocked if we got a 2nd.

Nice job if the Chiefs pull that off for a 37-year old who is only going to be in the league for another year or two.

He's not worth a first day pick.

Wow...that would be a steal. It's almost impossible to believe.

Check the story again at PFT, it says they misidentified the pick and the 'Fins are offering a 7th

This isn't all that surprising. The Dolphins are the same franchise that gave up a 2nd rounder for AJ Feeley.

That's more like it.

If Plummer was being sniffed for a 4th round pick, no way is Green getting anywhere above a 5th.

I'd say he's worth a sixth. He is a system QB, but not a terrible one.

You can never underestimate the Fins ineptitude.

He's an injury waiting to happen. And not a good enough one to risk a season on.

How it is that Culpepper has fallen so far from where he once was is completely beyond me. It makes no sense.

How do you mistake a two for a 7 on the keyboard? You use the right hand to type a 7. A left hand to key 2.:giggle:

He hasn't, but it depends on his knee. They just want insurance and Cleo Lemon isn't it. Fin fans will jump off McCarthur causeway if the Dolphins send a #2 for Trent.

He ain't worth a 7th. But the fins like to go after QBs who have an immediate impact...... on their turnover ratios......

Daunte Culpepper now TrINT, down goes Fraser, Green.

He's worth a seventh. Check his F.F. stats the last 4-5 years. Wow, I can't believe Culpepper hasn't bounced back better.

A 7th round pick is about right for a QB that didn't quite recover from his concussion and is 37...

Wow, I can't believe Culpepper hasn't bounced back better.

His knee was destroyed, only to be rebuilt. It was the stupid Fins who decided to trade a #2 and offer a huge contract to Pep before he stepped onto the field.

I was watching the game when Pep got his knee shredded. He got twisted into a pretzel. I knew before whistle blew that he likely tore it to hell. It was ugly. To his credit, he didn't act like a soccer flopper and they didn't bring out the cart.

PFT has some serious egg on it's face. I still like the site tho. If your going to **** up, you might as well do it royally. Those contract numbers for Mr. Concussion are absurd. And WTF is going on in Miami? Somewhere, Don Shula is rolling his eyes. It makes ZERO sense to bring in Green, who is one hit from being a vegetable, yet alone in regards to his antiquity.
