I'd have to ask my younger brother if he's going to see the movie. He's the one who grew up with the Turtles...

I'm quite excited. Just played through the old TMNT Arcade Game on Xbox Live... what great memories.

I've been pumped for about a year when I first heard it was gonna happen, now seeing previews of how they did the cgi it looks awesome, although I hear it focuses on Raphael and Leonardo and that Don's role is like a cameo(lame), but i guess it's pretty good, and either way I'm pumped.
Here's a review this guy I know did on it, ill keep it white so you can look if you want:
The movie focuses almost entirely on Raphael and Leonardo. Michaleango is in it, but Donatello's role is practically a cameo. The movie is CGI, but good enough that you almost forget that it's CGI. It's very stylized ... without being cartoony. Visually, it's similar to Incredibles, but not THAT stylized. There's a scene in the rain which looks great, but it should.
At the start of the film, Leonardo is in Central America on a mission to "find himself" and become a better leader. Meanwhile, the other three turtles are working day jobs or keeping busy. Casey Jones and April (who is wicked hot) are inadvertantely helping the villain retrieve ancient statues which will help in his evil plan to take over the world.
The plot is ok (it's not a Christopher Nolan flick ... but it's not the predictable, cookie-cutter story you'd expect for a cartoon). It's much slower moving than it should be, and it's (obviously) completely ludicrous (what do you expect in a movie with human-sized turtles who use ninja skills to fight crime ... in a time of guns). The action is decent, but not NEARLY as badass as I'd have liked to see. I think there's a total of 6 "fight scenes" ... and only 2 I'd consider major or even long enough to enjoy. I also would've liked more about the 13 monsters that the villain has to collect. You get to see 3-4 "in action" ... but the other 9 are on screen for just a few seconds. But, I imagine that more screen time would've made the movie feel like "Lilo and Stitch with Muscles".
The voice work is great. Except Kevin Smith. He's got a BIT part as a diner chef ... and he just doesn't fit. The head cook at a grease-pit diner in NYC should have an accent. Sorry if that's a stereotype or whatever - but he SHOULD. Instead, it's Kevin Smith, sounding very small and 100% out of place. And considering his 30 seconds of vocal work, he should NOT have billing on the poster / opening credits. Splinter and Karai were ok ... a little slow speaking, but considering they were actual Japanese actors, I'll cut them some slack.

I'm seeing this with my girlfriend on Friday, I am so excited. I used to love these guys so much, I even remember my mom taking me to the mall to and waiting in an insane line to get my picture taken with Leonardo back in the day.
I had all the toys, had the tank that shot pizzas... Hell, we still have a Turtles X-Mas ornament that my Dad makes fun of but my Mom always makes sure is on the tree.
Definitely a huge part of my youth, I can't wait.

I remember in High School, I used to grab a Hostess Vanilla Pie out of the convenience store (do they even still make those yummy things?) and there would be TMNT stickers or something in the pack. That's about all I remember of the Ninja Turtles...
The movie looks cool though, all things considered. I wish my son was old enough to justify going to it.
The feature I'm looking forward to though, right now, is Grind House.

I want to know what they did with Rose McGowan's leg. (That is the correct actress, right? Even if not, the question still stands.)

You know it was interesting, outside there weren't huge lines for people to buy tickets, but once I got in and sat down, the theater was packed. Had to have been close to sold out.

I'm babysitting the very little ones right now while they take the older grandkids to see it. Amazingly all of my children went with them. I remember the toys you guys are talking about because I bought them for birthdays and Christmas for my kids. We still have a library of TMT videos.

I saw TMNT last night. I went in skeptical becuz the trailer didnt look that good to me but I had to see it anyways cuz i grew up LOVIN the ninja turtles. I ended up actually liking it. It is different than the original guys but it is definitely still cool in its own way. Mikey and Raph were especially cool.
