If we move up and pass on Calvin Johnson this place will explode.

Not move up. This is a deep draft for D-Line and I think they would be giving up too much to move to #2, and maybe overpaying a bit for Adams at that spot (isnt he slated around #6-#8 spot in most mocks?).
If they move up to the mid teens to get one of the other D-Lineman that they dont think will fall to #21, thats cool with me. If one of the studs drops to #21, even better.

With good reason, but the Raiders will take him.

i dont see how we could move up the draft without trading away half the team.

You still dont think they will bite on Russell? Even though he got good reviews the other day?

#2 is too high for Gaines Adams. If they get up that high, it'll be for Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas. If they're looking for one of the top D-linemen in the draft, they'll look to get to #6 where they could look at Jamaal Anderson or Alan Branch.

i don't care what pick, what round. this team begs for a stud RDE. has for several years. am sick and tired of watching pathetic pass rushes as teams move down the field in the fourth quarter for winning scores. gack.

And itīs not like Joe Thomas is a once in a decade guy. If they want a stud LT to protect Cutler they can wait a year and then make a push to get Jake Long or Sam Baker.

If we get the #2, I'm all for raping some team for an additional 2-3 First day picks.

Those choices don't make sense (even hypothetically)...
We are not going to mortgage the farm to move up to #2 to draft Adams Gaines....this is a deep D-Line draft.....you don't need the #2 pick to get that impact d-lineman....
Joe Thomas maybe....but I don't see Shanny picking O-line that high....Shanny may be even more arrogant regarding getting late round/free agent o-lineman than he is with getting late round/free agent runningbacks....
If we overpay to get the #2 pick it's for Calvin Johnson....
If the Raiders pick CJ at #1 then we have no reason to trade talk with Detroit anymore...
If D-line is what we target when moving up, then we're more likely to talk with washington...not detroit

I wouldn't. I'd take Joe Thomas or Johnson or even Adams before Russell. Al Davis never takes QB's in the first round. Why he would this time, especially for a guy that isn't even the best player in the draft is beyond me.

And Mike Shanahan never takes QBs in the first rounds.....
Oh, wait......
But I do agree that the faids will more likely take Johnson because, well,.... just because. They would be better off trading out of 1 and get some Oline and a RB or whatever.... However, I hope they waste the pick. But they are likely to get the first pick again next year....

Isn't this the 3rd poll to ask basically the same questions?
Calvin Johnson, otherwise stay put. If the FO really wants to move Wilson offer him to Detroit for their '08 first and 3rd this year.

I agree. It could be that the Broncos wait it out til draft day and if the Raiders foolishly pick Russell, expect a trade to be annouced when the Lions go on the clock

Jay needs protection, but we need to get to the QB too.
Gaines Adams.
