Hey guys check out this thread in the "Draft Countdown Forums". They were so many people there, actually the mojority of people that thought Denver was going to win the AFC West. Of course there were some people that thought the Chargers were going to win it, but its not like they dont ha ve just as good of a shot as us(As much as I hate it they are pretty good, but so are we)

We just need 1-2 more playmakers on that D-line. I just put this out there because I always feel the Broncos get no respect and so do a lot of other Denver fans. But we get no respect from the MEDIA...fans around the country have some respect for us. Heres to the Broncos for being contenders every year:yayaya: :strong: :)

i think we are pretty well respected by the media...power rankings and such are always pretty close to truth. the denver broncos tradition demands respect, but i think everyone, media and fans alike, are all waiting for shanahan's magic to come through again and until that happens homers will feel disrespected

To add to this I think Denver is one of the most respected franchises among NFL players. Probably #1.

Look at all the free agents this year. Kerney, Graham and Henry. Their first visits were the Broncos. It's like that every year whether or not Denver can sign the guy is another thing all together but the fact that these players give Denver the first shot is very impressive.

Remember when Lynch was a FA? He came to Denver before he even met with the Jets, whom he had a very close relationship with Edwards.

It's definitely a great feeling, and win or lose... we should always be proud of this team. It's GREAT to be a Broncos fan. :thumbsup:

Not to be insulting, but I think fans and the media in general are way too enthralled by Denver this year just because they went after everybody and their mother in FA. A month ago everybody was talking about what a crappy FA group there was. Now they are talking about how the teams that went out and spent an ass load of money won big. It's pretty much the way things play out every year it seems. The big 'winners' of free agency last year all sucked. Free agency is 75% hype. Free agents bust just like draft picks do, but you don't pay draft picks a $15 million dollar signing bonus. The subtle moves in the free agency period are almost always the most productive, but they aren't sexy enough to get press coverage and preseason hype. Hype isn't a prerequisite for a winning team, though.

I'd pick Denver as one of the top 10 teams going into this year, but not because they went hog wild in free agency. I think that the basis of Denver's consistant success has been good coaching and strong organisational pride. Hype means nothing. People are overlooking deficiencies right now just because they are so excited about perceived improvements. That's my take.

I think that Henry will be be a gem in our system -- I cant tell you how many times last year that I thought that Sammy Winder had come out of retirement. It was truely painful to watch. This year we return to decisive running.

Very good take and I agree. Denver isn't better than SD right now in my opinion.

Offense=SD>Den

Defense=SD>Den

Special teams=??? but I'll say SD due to the crappy past Denver has had

Coaching=Denver by a large margin.

The media likes betting on a sure thing. You are right we are a pretty well respected team.

Shanahan's magic seems to happen or not happen in off season for me. He always changes the paradigm and the pushes that window. Sometimes it looks funny like three cornerbacks, Browncos, and a flurry of DT candidates but it's always interesting. Many coaches are not only not interesting but stupid. The fact they win games at all speaks directly to the parity of football and just how hard it it to rise above.

For a decade, at least 9-7 every year. Above average but not yet championship caliber. Loyal fanbase. Stable management. Nice standard/quality/cost of living. What's not to like? Exactly opposite of Chokeland.

This organization is pure class, from the owner down to the number one fan - me.

I think we didn't just get good players in FA, we got players who were a great fit for our team needs, and I think people can see that...

..having said that, the true test will be next season - fingers crossed!
