I just started posting so I haven't really thought about adopting one, but I might wait till after the draft or until someone explains to me how to do it. Can I just pick anyone?

There are some cheerleaders available. I don't think DC Bates is taken. Not sure...pretty sure Jay Cutler has been taken Ha!...I have had Cecil the Diesel for awhile.
We usually have a draft before the season starts. It might be closed for now.

I remember he was highly ranked in the draft. He was a monster at OSU. He's yet another first rounder we have gotten dirt cheap. At least I think he was a first rounder. I saw him be dominant for OSU.

keep dreaming. as for peterson i think he'll definilely make the team and will probably be a solid role-player in bate's system being familiar with it.

He was actually a third-rounder but I think I remember Kiper saying he was a first-round talent that would do nothing for the first 4 years of his career and then explode in year 5.

C. Brown won't be back. Microfracture surgery usually ends a career. Find Terrell Davis.
If it doesn't end his career, we will never be 100%. Ever.

I don't agree with this. It's a surgery that has come along way since td had it. Not saying Courtney will be back but there is a chance he could play again. Other's have come back from it fairly strong. Off the top of my head I can only think of Amare Stoudemire but there are others too. Not trying to argue just think its to early to say definitively.

Actually it wasn't the ACL that TD couldn't overcome, it was lost cartilage in the other.
For all the joking going on in this thread, don't forget that in the ONE season he played for Bates in Green Bay he posted 24 tackles (19 solo), 3 sacks, 3 pass deflections, forced 2 fumbles, and recovered 2.
Those are pretty nice stats for a situational guy, he just turned 28 a couple months ago, and he's a 6'3", 285 pounder with some pretty nice athleticism. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson and Bates get a pretty good impact season out of him from the bench.

Good question.
Peterson can play multpile positions, and it was reported soon after signing him mid-season that Denver would look to retain him.

Right, TD's ligament was repaired. His cartilage was gone, hence the microfractrure surgery. It is supposed to create new cartilage in the joint. TD had a degenerative knee with no cartilage. I'm no doctor, but I can't see anyone playing at a high rate on a bone on bone knee.
I'm sure there are exceptions. Courtney Brown has never been a great example of durability.

Kiper rated him as the 7th DT in that draft. Said he was not a grea individual performer, but was versatiel enough to ply either DE or DT,. His strengths were hsi quickness and that he was a "firey, intense competitor" who always gave it 100% effort.
This guy is the human stat machine :)

Signing a backup DE does not mean we have "solved" the D-line issue. We're only a few weeks into FA and still have the draft in front of us, so we have plenty of time to get more impact players.

If the Broncos don't bring in an impact draft pick this is the same thing Coyer did his first year shuffling around a lot of one year contracts. Broncos seemed to pick him up around the same time it seemed Coyer turned into a plane slamming into a mountain.

It's not new cartilage. Once you lose cartilage it's gone forever.
What microfracture surgery does is creates a scare tissue buffer between the joints. Surgeons drill holes deep into the bone, which then causes bone marrow to leak out and become this scar tissue.
It's worked out well for the average person walking in everyday life. But a profootball player isn't doing average walking or running on a daily basis.
Now an O-Line isn't rushing forward on every play like a DE. There is more pressure on the knee of a DE.
Let's not forget the pain evolved in the knee. Many developed arthritis in the knee after the procedure. Even Amare Stoudemire is dealing with the pain.
Other NBA players like Terrell Brandon and Penny Hardaway where never the same again. Hell Brandon never made it back on the court for the Wolves.
So you never know with this surgery.

Of course it doesnt mean we've solved it.
WHen they sign a stud on the D-line maybe my skepticism of their approach of plug and play scrub ball will lessen.
