They should be hitting newsstands around this time of the year. Last year I bought PFW´s Draft Preview and I was impressed by it. Is there anythign you buy every year or something you recommend?

I actually saw some at the store at lunch, earlier today, but didn't have time to figure out which one to buy

Working where I work I can read them all which is nice. I find them almost immediately outdated though, with much more updated stuff online. That may be just me though.

PFW is my favorite. ESPN started one last year and I really liked it. I signed up for it online. When you buy the draft magazine for 9 bucks, you get ESPN Insider free until after the draft.

When Joel Bucshbaum was alive, PFW was the gold standard. Unfortunately, there's nobody that can take his place. Nolan Narwocki does not have Joel's nose for smelling out busts. Kiper is all about Kiper. The Sporting News is not terribly insightful but they are thorough. Scouts, Inc (thorugh NFL.com) has very thorough profiles on the first-day candidates but you sometimes have nothing on the second-day guys.
My best suggestion is to get a number of sources and find out what each has to say, watch some games yourself and make up your own mind.

I have made my picks...I'm bracing for the usual shock or awe.

last year I bought three. PFW, ESPN and Sporting News. I found PFW to be the most outdated and least helpful. ESPN and Sporting News were close but I would have to give the edge to ESPN, just because they had more features. One thing I always look for in those NFL player comparisons is under the offensive lineman I look for comparisons to Broncos guys. A lot of times those late round guys are compared to Bronco linemen. Some examples I remember: Greg Eslinger, Ben Hamilton, Chris Kuper
