A friend of mine coaches at Dodge City Community College where Reggie Nelson went. He told me last week a broncos scout called and asked for all game tapes of reggie. He said this is not common but does happen from time to time, with the last one being Reynaldo Hill of the titans.

Reggie Nelson shouldn't be available at 21.

smokescreen

I doubt Shanahan is working a community college coach as a smokescreen.

Probably more a "kid has tons of hype, lets see why just in case he slides" type of thing.

He did draft John Mobley from the powerhouse of Kutztown

At this time of year there is probably a Fed Ex truck driving up to Dove Valley twice a day dropping off boxes of film on someone

Although we have an excellent history of 1st round safeties (BT, DS49, Atwater) ... I generally don't like safeties that high.

LaRon Landry would be an exception though, cause he's a freak.

I'm curious when LaRon Landry became a freak? IIRC, Last season he was just another safety in the bunch.

He's getting a lot of hype cuz of his brother. I don't even think his brother is all that. It's impossible to suck in the Ravens defense. I still hope he falls to #30 though :wiggle:

Landry is a great player and leader.....but he is NOT a freak.

See Calvin for a description of what a freak is.

LAST year? Since when does last year matter?

I'll grant you he is not a Calvin Johnson-type freak, but he's the best safety to come out since Polamalu at least. He's a near-220-pound big hitter with leadership qualities, a nose for the ball, and a 4.34 40 time.

He's a much better player than Dawan ... and his stock rose at the combine. He could even play corner. A top 5-10 pick, and that's saying something for a safety.

I would not mind that pick at all, heavy hitter who is always around the ball.

You got that switched around. The brother with the Ravens was getting hype because of Landry at LSU. The kid been on the rader screen for the last 3 years as a stud. He has potential to be very very good in the NFL.
