Need creative assistance.....

My girfriend is a graphic designer and she was given a real tough deadline and we're looking for a bit of help. She is doing work for a company that has some very bland names for energy drinks and they want to make the names "hip".

The current names are as follows:

1) Acai Berry Sports Drink
2) Blood Orange Sports Drink
3) Tropical Dragonfruit Pineapple Sports Drink
4) Lemon Lime Sports Drink

So take your best shot at making these names "hip". I know we have some creative people around here.:thumbs:

Obviously they want to keep a similar "theme" to each flavor but they didn't give her any other criteria. Be creative! Some buzz words my girlfriend was working with were (atomic, element, adrenaline, zen etc)......

The winner will receive two liftetime season tickets right behind the Broncos bench. ;)

I have a feeling you guys will have no problem with the orange flavor drink.

1) Didn’t even know what an Acai was until I looked it up a minute ago. I would maybe emphasize the exotic aspect, or the Palm tree/grove idea. The fact it is grown in South/Central America could be a place to start.

2) Not sure how to play off the Blood aspect of it without being too gross for a drink. Maybe something along the lines of “Orange Pulse” would work. You could kind of work in the adrenaline angle that way.

3) Can you really get any cooler than something named “Dragonfruit?" How about a kung fu theme: “Enter the Dragonfruit.” Okay, that was joke. Maybe a “Tropical Escape” theme would work.

4) Lemon lime might be the toughest since it has been done so many times. The first idea I got was maybe a competitive theme since it is an energy drink, like “Lemon vs. Lime.” It’s a little cheesy, but whatever.

Those are some of the quick ideas I had. I’ll see if any others come to me later. Best of luck to your girlfriend!

Thanks KidA. I wasn't exactly clear about the "theme". The orange flavor for instance doesn't have to incorporate "Blood" but just the Orange flavor itself.

Tropical escape has a nice ring to it though.

I mean, if you want to go "hip", add Ballin' to any of the names. Right now, that ballin' is hot.

Or you could go with letters in graffti and call it graffiti energy drink.

You can go with TA-DOW which is hip-hop for boom or there it is.

BAM! Sports drink. That's got some ring to it.

If you look at the sports/energy drink market right now, there are a lot of crazy names out there. Every name is a possibility.

Basically, I need new ways to descripe the existing flavors. You can use any theme you feel approprite. I basically need to make the names "hip" and appealing to the younger generation. Any ideas are appreciated. Go crazy. We are in the early brain-storming stages, so we basically need some food for thought. The main objective is to rename the existing flavors. Thanks in advance.

What's the name of the company? And what's the brand name? If the brand name of Ma and Pa's energy drink, then how do you make Lemon Lime sound cooler when the brand name is already whack?

You are welcome to stray as far from the original name as possible, as long as it conveys the same flavory message. :) Post all your ideas. Some of the best concepts evolve from a combination of idea. I do like Pimp Juice though, I just might pitch that one.

Learn from the car companies... whenever they put a bigger engine in the same model they call it something like... Type S, Type R, M3, AMG... Just give the drinks a normal name with an added Acronym or abbreviation for meaning... e.g. Acai-X with caffeine for an adrenaline rush or Acar-R with ginco for erection enhancement... You'll need an edge :strong:

Punch - you could use an energetic, strong font for the word "PUNCH", and make a creative name for the flavor...i.e.

1. If "Acai" is pronounced A-K(eye) then go for a Vegas aproach: "Aces Hi Berry Blam!"

2. For an orange drink go "Orang-U-tan Jungle Juice" feature an orangutan slamm'n and hanging from a tree (they are very powerful apes).

3. Dragonfruit, or a tropical approach can be a dragonfly: "Tropical Fly" or "Dragon Fly Fruit Punch!"

4. Lemon Lime is a dime-a-dozen drink. Go radical, call it "Yellow Slime Power!" maybe with an alien theme.
